Faux Airbrushing!

Craft Stamper have a Bi-monthly challenge over on there blog called 'Take it,Make it'.
Basically you take a technique from the Craft Stamper Magazine, this time it's 'Faux Airbrushing' from the March edition. And then you make something!
I opted for a card.
I used a chevron stencil {cut by my friend Fi, on her silhouette} for my faux effect, I used 'squeezed lemonade', 'mustard seed', 'dried marigold' and 'fire brick' distress ink.
I then stamped with Sam Poole's ghetto blaster from the 'Urban Beats' plate, Direct to the card, and also twice onto plain card so I could cut and layer it up.
I gave it a coat of glossy accents to make it more realistic.
I was in 2 minds about putting a sentiment, so left it blank, I can always add at a later date if I need to.
I had a couple of other attempts at the technique before I was happy with the final card.
Here is one that just didn't have enough pow for me.
I used 'pumice stone' and 'black soot' along with my own handmade stencil, and some kaisercraft stamps.
I found the larger the area to be faux'ed the harder it was to get a nice finish.
Right that's me for today.. Off to do my good samaritian bit in the charity shop.. Ta Ra and thanks for stopping by x

The bright card with chevrons is my favourite. The stronger colour shows up the airbrush techniqe really well.
