Let the Celebrations Begin!

Happy 100th to the Sunday Stamper Challenge
This is actually my second entry.. well you gotta be in it to win it as they say lol
And as the theme is 'Free as a Bird'..i.e do what ya like i thought i'd share
this altered necklace that i made for Hels, and presented her with it when i visited Ally Pally
As you can see its a mix of beads and old keyboard keys attached to a double loop chain.

and because the keys kept swinging round i figured i'd fill the back with tiny bottle top letters so it would always spell the name and not have some horrid hole showing.

so in effect she got 2 for one as you could wear it either way!
Don't forget to hop on over and join in the celebrations...
There is stash vouchers to be won and Hels is offering up some extra candy if she gets 100 peeps to join in so what are you waiting for!

Oh Sew Good

Just sharing a card i actually made last month, but forgot to take a snap b4 i sent it to it's new home..They kindly took a snap for me and then i totally forgot to blog it!!
I first stamped the bottom of my base card using 2 different lace stamps, unfortuntaly i used the wrong type of ink and the lovely detail blured but i knida liked how it went a bit distressed.
I made a couple of inky backgrounds with distress inks, a mini mister filled with water and a non stick craft sheet, You know the old ink, spritz, swish, dab, blotch, spritz some more tecnique!
 I then stamped over these using stamps from the Dressmaking No.1, and Ephemera 1 plates available from The Artistic Stamper.
I stamped out the sewing machine onto photo paper to give a nice shine, then stuck that to thick card and cut it out, i wrapped real cotton round the bobbin bit and threaded it through a couple of holes i made to make it look more realistic, the pic doesn't do it justice, it was so darn cute.
I finished off with a couple of real pins and strip of ribbon. I used the mini scrabble tile stamps to produce the wording.
This card fits in with this weeks Crafty Creations Challenge which is 'Distressing' {i know its not the norm paper torn kinda distress but i think it looks pretty shabby so i hope it counts lol}

Prepare to yawn!

Why i hear you ask.. well it's wednesday, and time to share my desk with Julia and the crew but as you can see...
there is very little TO share i'm afraid...
I was in london last week and back to work this week so the old desk hasn't really seem much action..
I did manage to get my alcohol inks out and had a little play with an old mirror hangy thing, but i'm not sure i like it. Also there is a bag of old wooden cotton spools i picked up at the charity shop, was just looking {and found} the colour i needed to finish a canvas and metal cuff i started {thats hiding behind the bag.. i'll share pics of that once it's finished} but thats really all there is to see.
I promise to try harder to leave more mess so you've something exciting to see next time. And i've already had an idea for my WOYWWAC.
If you're now wondering what on earth i'm on about hop over to WOYWW and all will be revealed!

99....100 here i come ready or not lol

This week over at Sunday Stamper there is a bit of a party going on... Why i here you ask! coz the SS challenge is only flaming well gonna be 100 next week.. but coz Hels is in the middle of a house move she's combining this week and next in to one almighty 100th giveaway challenge
The theme is 'Free as a bird'
Meaning you can do what ya like.. but you can add birdy's too if you so wish.
..........
So here is my offering.
I was determined to use as many of my new ally pally products as possible for this.
First i coloured a mountboard canvas with viva paper-soft colour and gold and iron ferro.
I cut 4 2"squares from scraps of mountboard and coated them with eco paint {i actually tried the pva crackle with these but it failed miserably.. and i wont bore you with the details} I distressed 2 tiles with stormy sky DI and 2 with brushed corduroy, then edged and generally roughed up with a black ink pad. Once i was happy with the colours i got out some of my new timmy stamps and gave each tile a picture.
Once these were how i wanted them i coated 2 with transparent croco and then highlight sections of the other 2 with glossy accents.
I punched a couple of holes using my big bite and finished with some old chain from a dismantled necklace...
Oh yeah taking of necklaces.. if you have a primark near by, head on in there as they have these 2 fab ones just ready to rip apart and use the elements off..

And a bargain at £5 for the pair.. Ok i've gone a little off track here but i do like to share a bargain.
So where was i.. oh yeah the sunday stamper,
 Head on over the see Hels and join in and you could win some fab candy
 The Artistic Stamper and The Stamp Attic are both sponsoring this challenge and you can win vouchers to spend on fabby stash.. so what you waiting for, join in today.. or tomorrow or any time over the next 2 weeks :)

AIM... mini book/matchbox!

I came across a new monthly challenge blog that just started this month called
Perfect i thought for giving my creativity a jump start each month.
They're starting off with 'altered matchboxes'
Now i know this looks more like a book than a matchbox but i'm hoping it still counts, as i have used a matchbox is a main part of the piece!... Honest!
As you can see i've altered a tiny ickle hardback book, i cut a hole in the front and added a wire window {totally inspired by a piece i saw on Effie's blog some months ago} I've distressed it with some viva paints and a couple of dabbers.
Ok so your wondering where the matchbox is.. well the handle is a clue!!
Yep you guessed it, the matchbox has been altered to become
 a secret draw in the book filled with an ickle message.
Thanks for the fab challenge {even though i went a little off track with it} and i look forward to next months theme x

WOMBF!!!! {long post/pic heavy}

Just a slight change for this week, WOYWW has to become Whats On My Bed Friday
Now i know it's not wednesday and i'm not even about to show my workdesk but i figured if anyone was nosey enough and wanted to see the stash i got at ally pally {a big craft show here in the uk} this past weekend it would be you lot.
So here it all is...
{click pic for a closer look you nosey things}
The reason i was sooooo late sharing this is I was actually spent wednesday travelling back home from my lovely mummys and yesterday was spent chillin with my partner, i missed him even though i was only gone for a week.
As you can see i did go a little mental on 'must haves' but i had the bestest weekend catching up with friends old and new, Here are some of the pics i managed to take..
 A very BIG Thank you to everyone that made my weekend special.
Think i may spend the rest of today playing with my new stash.
Thanks for stopping by.

Butterfly Moments

As you read this i will be winging my way down the motorway to London in readyness for this weekends
@Ally Pally {i shall be attending both days}
So today i thought i'd share a piece of artwork that will be displayed on The Stamp Connection {aka the artistic stamper}Stand 49 at the show.
Melt art meltdown.. or Butterfly Moments as i like to call it was the result of a play date with a crafty friend.
 I decided it was time to pull out the old melt pot as it was getting dusty, I had some old white embossing powder that i wanted to use up, i figured it would be ok in the MP so in it went.. it took a bit longer then it should of to melt and was going very creamy when i tryed stiring it.. At this point i concluded it wasn't such a good idea to use non UTEE powder and frantically started scrapping it from the pan... the nearest thing i had to scrap it onto was a piece of canvas mountboard.
Once it was out and i had cleaned my pot i looked at the gloopy mess that had hardened and me being me thought.. that will make an unusual base for a project.. with a splosh of brown paint and bronze edging it was ready for a centre piece.
{click to enlarge for more detail}
Before the goo disaster {happy accident lol} i had made a few faces using molds, clear utee and some of the offending white powder.. I prettyed up her face using my copics.
I matted an old piece of book page onto some board and stamped the my fav moth from the insects and butterflys plate, i cut this out. The left over board i used to cut a body shape out and with a few real feathers i created a beautiful butterfly effect.
Finishing touches were some punched out butterfly shapes, the 'butterfly words' verse stamped on card and given a torn edge before mounting, and a couple of eyeletted holes and ribbon to hang.

I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at the show over the weekend... i'll be the one dragging this altered trolly back and forth...
So if you visit my blog, and you do happen to see me,
please come and say hello, i'd love to meet you xx

Nothing much to report!!

As you can see not much at all is happening on my desk this week..
I am travelling to London to see my folks on friday and attend a big craft show at ally pally over the weekend so the CD's are out to load up my itunes/pod so i've something to listen to on the way up.
I just finished scoffing some rich tea biccies and was inspecting my new pinking sheers found for a bargain price on ebay when i remembered it was wednesday.
So to please Julia and my fellow WOYWW'ers i'm added this pic of my altered bits and bobs storage
As you can see it houses everything from scrabble tiles and dominoes to hardwear and glass vials.
There are 8 segments to each unit and they slot together so you can add more as and when needed.
I plan a major re-shuffle of my craft space in the not so distant future, i seem to have outgrown the space as it is {i share it with my OH and his decks} so i need to have a good old sort out and jiggle the room about to fit it all in.. Not that i'm in any way saying i have too much stuff, that is obviously not possible, as a girl can never have too much stuff LOL
Right i best get on, i have my hair to dye, as the red i did the other week just isn't bright enough so i got me one of those Live Colour XXL jobbies... plus i still need to pack a bag amoungst other things.
I wont be about next week as i'll be travelling back home, but i'll be back posting the following week no doubt. So untill then have fun creating x

Alice...

 is a bit of a Sunday Stamper... And she has Lots to Do...
Happy Easter Peeps, Hope everyone is having a lovely bank holiday break.. {i'm working unfortunatly}
{click to enlarge}
As you may have already guessed this is my entry for both of the above challenges. SS having a 'Lace' theme and LTD being 'Black & White'
I decided while looking through some boxes that i had far too many jigsaw pieces and it was about time i altered one... I started by cutting a rectangle hole and then painting the piece with a couple of coats of gesso and snow dabber, once dry, i made up and attached a little shadow box type thingy behind the hole i had cut to house a little bottle that i salvaged from an old air freshener, i filled this with some beads and topped it with wire and cloth.
I've used 3 of the fabby new Mabel Lucie Attwell Alice stamps available exclusively from The Artistic Stamper
who will be at next weekends
bssbs @ Ally Pally stand 49
I also used a section of my diamonds stamp for the background.
It was looking a bit bland untill i stamped 2 of the images onto photo paper and cut them out and mounted them and a few extra tags about the piece and now.. well its fit for a wonderland !!
I am getting really excited about Ally Pally now... And am looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new ones too. So if you happen to see me, do stop and say Hello, i'd love to meet you x
