Talk about a surprise! And he said i can buy myself a couple of dies to go with it.
WooHooHoo
It already has a pride of place amongst friends..

Masterboard... Masterpiece!!!

Well ok maybe not a masterpiece but I needed a catchy title lol
I get the craft stamper mag every month, have a flick through, think to myself, I'll try that, that and that and then promptly forget to try any of it!
Well not this time.... This time my friend Alison reminded me and we both set to work making a motherboard following the instructions on page 75 of march's issue. She finished hers about 2 days b4 me as i was doing other things in between.
Once I finished I must admit I looked at it and wasn't all that impressed,
but Alison assured me once I cut it up and used bits of it I would be much happier.. And guess what
I was.. Coz this is how the card turned out...
Sorry for the naf photo, i just couldn't get a good shot, need the sunshine to come out and play!!
{will try and take another photo asap}
I used a slimmed down diecut birdcage, and a bird i made from friendly plastic and embossing powder.
I used a mini nappy style pin as i didn't have any of the memo pins to hold the ticket.
I still have some masterboard left so you may just see some more cards from me!
To see the card Alison made click HERE.

WOYWW 90

Good morning desk hoppers
Another wednesday is upon us...
I'm posting early as i will be heading to the hospital today to find out if my knee is well and truly buggered and i need an operation!!!!!
I doubt i'll be making it round many desks today sorry.. will have to be tomorrow!
So this is the state of my desk @ 1.30-2am b4 i headed off to bed...
Mid way through trying to complete a mixed media masterboard featured in the March Craft Stamper.. thought it's looking a bit dodgy at this stage, i'm hoping the stamping will improve it!
And the newest addition to my craft room
This is one of those random things i saw on ebay an just had to give her a home, I have no idea why she just sucked me in with her bright eyes and curly black hair!
I've named her Willow.
Now all i need is to make her some clothes!!
Right i best be heading to bed.. Happy Hopping.. If you're still clueless as to why my desk is on show.. Head over to see the Queen Bee Miss Julia to find out more.

Inky Minxy Metal!

Good Morning Stampers, How is everyone this miserable morning, ggeesh this cold dull and wet weather is really bringing a downer to the week.
Still on the bright side it gives me the excuse to stay inside and craft! Oh and watch Tim on QVC!
And what better way to try and kick start the old mojo back into life but by taking part in my favorite challenge
Compendium of Curiosities
This week the delightful Linda has chosen page 56
'Altered Metal Alcohol Inks'
And here is what i made...
I created a little pendant using a small piece of industrial metal which i inked with Expresso and Stonewashed AI's,
I used old book pages for my pages which i coated with matt accents, I also gave the metal a coat of matt accents to seal it.
The bird was actually coloured using my copics.. well there an alcohol pen right!
This is the back of the pendant, it came out really pretty shame it's the back really!
And the you have it.
Thanks for dropping by.. Sorry i've not had time to do much blog hopping lately, Hope to rectify that soon.
Have an Inky Day

It's a numbers game!

Just a quickie.. this week Sunday Stampers theme is 'Numbers' and although this doesn't have actual numbers on i figured it was still ok.
As you can tell from the card the old mojo has up and left, but i wanted to try one of my new embossing folders, i just didn't know what to do once i had stuck it to the card!!
I wasn't going to share this but figured you may as well except the bad along with the good, thats what friends do isn't it!
Hopefully i'll have more exciting projects to share soon..
watch this space!

WOYWW 89 & Compendium Challenge!

Sorry my desk has been AWOL from woyww for a couple of weeks, I was in london and then just really busy last week, still trying to make my way round OWOH and failing miserably!
The desk is still a mess, I did sort of tidy but it somehow got messy again!!
I received some fab new rubber from the Artistic Stamper that i need to mount so i can play.
And for those of you with a keen eye you may have noticed the brown blob above my ink pads.. here's a closer look...
While on my only actual day out in london i picked up these fab old letterpress letters, How cool are they!
I'm up again at stupid o'clock so i may just try and head back to bed but i'll be round to see you later!
*****
Right onto the tag... This is my offering for this weeks Compendium Challenge
which is Inking and Stamping Masks, Page 59 i believe
I used dusty concord, shabby shutters and stormy sky and mainly stamps from the 'world traveler' set
I can't believe 32 weeks have passed by with this challenge, I hope Linda manages somehow to bring us many more!

Challenge Hat-trick!

I don't quite know where the days are disappearing to, I s'pose daily life is getting in the way more then i'd like it too. {I'd much rather be in craftroomland covered in ink, then doing the boring stuff like washing and shopping and visiting the hospital for scans etc..}
I did however manage a couple of playful hours yesterday, and before i hear smutty giggles {you know who you are} I mean in the craft room, {My dear other half was working last night but i did receive a very beautiful bouquet of lilies with a single red rose, and a hand made card which made up for the fact i spent the evening alone.} Anyway i digress..
I managed to finish my half started tag which combined 3 challenges
Sunday Stamper 'Love'
Simon Says Stamp'n'Show 'A Tag'
& Stampotique 'Valentines or Love'
Moon girl is actually made out of hearty clay, I stamped her into the clay and then cut her out and coloured her once dry.
The background of the tag is the rusted enamel effect from last weeks compendium challenge
I did manage another challenge tag but i'll save that for tomorrow!
Thanks for dropping by x

Time Flies!

So finally i managed to get back into my craft room for some much needed play time... I've combined 3 challenges
Compendium of Curiosities = 'Rusted Enamel'
Simon Says Stamp'n'Show = 'Embossing'
& Just for Fun = 'Time Flies'
I followed the rusted enamel instructions on page 41, then i embossed the whole tag using a TSS kabuka mold, I lightly rubbed some brown stazon over the top to highlight the embossing, finally i added some butterflies punched out of lost and found clock paper.
Not the most technical of tags but the old mojo is hiding.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget there are only a few days left to get in on my OWOH giveaway, i will be drawing winners on the 17th around 6pm GMT

Who Am I !

And more to the point where have i been?...
Sorry for being a bad blogger this past week, I actually went to visit my parents in london while i have the opportunity before i have a possible knee operation. I had a nice time, though didn't get out much.. only for one day and that was to meet my good friend Alison @ the Tate Modern..
Great company.. Shame about the art!!! but the de-tour to Covent Garden more than made up for it!
¨°Âº©©Âº°¨¨¨¨¨¨°Âº©©Âº°¨¨¨¨¨¨°Âº©©Âº°¨¨¨¨¨°Âº©©Âº°¨
Now I'm not sure whether my card fits this weeks PDC challenge or not..
Think it's on the verge of possible acceptance!!
It started off using the right colours! {kraft card and pink outfit}
So i'll share it anyways and wait for a slapped wrist if its deemed way off!
I actually stamped onto parchment, then embossed from behind to create the white areas, and coloured the rest with my copics. She's mounted on a sewing pattern motherboard i made with scraps,
and the sentiment was stamped onto an old clothes label i recycled.
I actually love the colours for this challenge so may just have another go, trying this time to use only the right colours instead of getting carried away!

My turn again over on the Artistic Stamper Team Blog

Alter It Monthly!

Well i got there in the end, I managed to finish the challenge piece i was going to blog yesterday.
And as you can see from the title it's for the Alter It Monthly challenge which makes it's return to blogland after a little break.
This month the theme is
Shrines, Nichos, Alters and Dream Boxes
I started off with this...
Added some matt gel medium
and a canvas to the mix and got this...
Then with a bit of green and blue patina eco paint,
some cutting, sticking and fiddling, oh and some trusty dymo tape.
I ended up with this...
I had several people ask what the little winged thing on my desk a week ago would become
and at the time i really didn't know, but as you can see she evolved into what i'm calling a
'CYBER PUNK' angel
She's made from hearty clay, old watch parts and hardware findings.
To be honest i'm not really up on what nichos and dream boxes are so I hope this fits the bill for the challenge..
Thanks for stopping by x
