Crimbo card No1.. first to show of many lol

I can't quite believe that i've missed out on the last 5 or so Compendium of Curiosities challenges..
Well that changes today.. I'm getting back to feeling like me again and to prove it here is my offering of this weeks Double Distress Pg40 {see book for details}
I used broken china and faded jeans, with a smidge of brushed corduroy for my grunge, the snowflakes are a cuttlebug folder. I dont have the Timmy one YET!!
I punched out a couple of snowflakes and covered them with diamond dust, don't they look pretty.
The dotty paper, snowman and sentiment are all Timmy stash, and the base card was stenciled using the snowflake waste from the punch outs.
This also fits in with Something Completely Different's 'Snow' prompt, Lots To Do's 'Embossing' prompt and The Stamp Man's 'Anything by Tim Xmas theme' challenges.
It's so nice to be inky again, i can't tell you how much i was feeling like i would never craft again!
But here i am, hopefully normal service should resume shortly.
I've had a good few inky days so lots more crimbo cards to come!

Beach Box Project

I've been trying to get a bit more inky lately as my cute side seems to have taken over just a bit lol.. anyway, i had a little wooden letter cube that had a W inset that i would never of used, so i decided it would be a good little project to alter.

I dug out the W carefully with a small chisel, and painted all over with blue metallic paint.

As i haven't played with metal in a long time either i got a bit of my TSS metal, and while rummaging i found one of the mini embossing plates you get free with magazines, the one i found had a summer/seaside theme... and seeing as its nearly the end of our summer i thought it a perfect topic for my project! Keep the summer alive lol!

I cut a square of metal big enough to fit into the the little inlay on the cube, i then cut that into 4, and embossed each piece with a different summertime shape... as i didn't want them to look all the same, i coloured each piece using Kuretake alcohol inks, these are very striking and vibrant colours and i love um... if you like ranger inks you'll love these too, there a must!

It came to mind that at the seaside you always have a game or 2 of bingo going on in the arcades and i wanted to incorporate that so i used one of Jennies fab bingo card stamps from the artistic stamper to edge 3 sides of the cube. I stamped with jet black Stazon.

I thought that the cube looked a bit bare and wanted to jazz it up a touch, so to finish i added some fun and funky grungepaper flowers, made using the flower power plate from artistic stamper and some distress inks. I held the flowers together with some fab screw top snaps just to give a quirky look.

Thanks for stopping by, there will be another project next week!

...Mini Art...

This is just a little canvas i altered using some old inky dried up wet wipes, wire, grungepaper, matt gel medium and some of the fab new flower and background stamps from The Artistic Stamper available here.

I inked the grungepaper, then stamped the flowers, cut them out, inked some more, stamped some background onto them, layered them up, and then kinda fiddled with all the elements till i came up with something i liked and that you now see before you!

Hopefully you will start to see more inky messy fun as i'm slowly learning to balance my cute and altered side, and i'd like to thank those of you who have been following me even though my altered side has been in hiding for a while...
