A bird in the hand....

..Is worth 2 in the bush!
Does anyone actually know what the hell that means!!!
Anyway i only used it for a catchy title!!
This is my entry for this weeks Sunday Stamper which has the theme of 'Birds'
This fab ickle wooden house comes untreated ready to alter and is available HERE for the bargain price of just 99p {along with several other bargains i bet you wont be able to resist lol}
I jazzed mine up by first colouring the house with brushed corduroy distress ink, then i printed off a set of one of Tims alphas from his Distressables CD and backed each tile onto chipboard and distressed some more with ink and sandpaper.
I stamped a couple of stitchel birds onto chipboard, smidged a bit of colour on um and cut em out.
Then i just placed and stuck it all together. I finished by removing the gold thread the house came on and added a bit of chain which also has a danglie bit for the birdy inside the house to play with.
These are really fun, and just the right size for a tree decoration.. so stock up for christmas lol

Just in time L.T.D...

Think I'm just in time to join in this weeks challenge over on Lots To Do
The theme is Metal
Having seen the piece that Sam did, i was a bit of a copy cat as it reminded me of an article i had seen in the Feb Craft Stamper that i too wanted to try.
...

...

I love the distressed look you get when you tear corrugated cardboard, and used this as my base, i had an old stained dry wet wipe that i added some stitching to and the glued to the board, tore a bit of bubble wrap and attached it by making holes and threading some fibres on one side.
Then i embellished with the letters A R T all done in metal, and a few other random things like a Stitchel bird stamped on canvas and cut out, some tiny puzzle pieces and a face moulded in UTEE, to name a few.
I was just playing really and this is what came out of that play session...
I like to play, it's good for the soul!

I was "Framed" i tell you

This time round the curtains have opened up on the altercation of a FRAME
It just so happens i had a sad lonely cheap wood frame that i had coated silver and then left neglected for some time, i re-coloured the frame with a brown acrylic dabber.
That was the easy bit... I then must of spent a total of 2 or so hours stamping and cutting out what seemed like a never ending pile of multiple size Stitchel flowers, leaves & bugs from Basic Grey figgy pudding papers, once these were all finally done i further inked them to give an aged less shiny and new look. Then it was a case of just sticking em all onto the frame, i used silicone for this.
Ah voila.. one frame...

...but being me, i decided to go a tad further and decorate the back of the glass as well, i used a new twirl frame stamp available here to create a smaller frame inside using brown stazon, i let it dry. I have some fab copper leaf, which i stuck all round the stamped frame using my {once thought useless never used} Stick and Stamp pad {finally i have a use for it lol} and where it missed a couple of spots i dabbed some copper coloured acrylic dabber, giving the overall look from the front as sort of mottled. I finished with a cute image printed from my TH Distressables CD, highlighted a couple of areas using similar colours to those in the paper flowers to tie it all together.

It actually came out better than i thought it would so I'm quite chuffed with it.

What do you think?

Neglected

Hiya All
Just wanted to say sorry i haven't managed to post anything of late.
I have had a heck of a few weeks, what with returning back to work after 6 weeks off due to my Operation and then having news that there are going to be 250 redundancies made, the future has me a tad worried.
Then there's been the double glazing that's just been fitted, so major clean up after they left, worth it mind, as it looks proper pukka now.
I have just had no time for me really. And alas my MOJO has done a runner... nowhere to be found lately..... I did make a pocket for Hel's In My Pocket challenge...little birds... but forgot to take pics and now another week has passed and it's a new prompt.
well here it is anyway, better late than never lol

Oh and speaking of Hel's if you don't already know she has her very own stamps called STITCHELS, and they're available to buy now from The Artistic Stamper. Go on take a peek, you know you want to!! lol
Anyway, i just wanted you all to know I'm still about, just nowhere near as much as i would like!

P.S. Should any of you happen to spot my MOJO i would be greatful if you could send it home, thanks xx lol

Christmas in July

Yep you heard me...

Sorry but i just had to join in with the latest challenge over on The Artistic Stamper blog.
You can win yourself a stunning piece of original artwork for the fabby Hels.
I decided to make a decoration for this one.
I started off by stamping
with pine needle distress ink
and clear embossing
as many stitchel hearts
as i could fit onto 1 sheet
of patterned 12"x12" paper...
i took a photo as i thought
just the paper looked
pretty cool as it was lol

Next was the task
of painstakingly cutting
each of the little
blighters out....
and as you can see
this was all i had
to show for my
hours of cutting out
82 hearts !!!

But I'm glad to say... once all pieces had been arranged and stuck to a large triangle of mountboard, the finished piece was pretty cool.

I finished by just adding another piece of mountboard for the tree base which was covered in red tissue paper and tied with a ribbon bow, i also attached a wire loop to the top so the piece could be hung.

Friday Sketchers

This week i took part in the

Friday Sketchers blog challange,

This week it's Sketch #8

See example ---->

I would of posted yesterday but when i had finished the card... i hated it, and decided to sleep on it to decide what to do.
This morning I looked at it with fresh eyes, and after a few tweeks and alterations i am now very happy and willing to share my effort for the challenge lol

Now i don't usually do cute... i know everyone seems to have gone Tilda mad, which is fine, but not for me, but when i saw the range by Rachel Ann Miller i couldn't resist buying just a couple. This is the first card i have made using my new stamps and i feel it may be a tad hard now not to purchase just a few more of these little cuties lol..

Anyway i have rambled enough...

To the making of it...

The image was stamped using a black archival ink and then coloured with Copic's, the papers are just a few scraps i had in a box. The fabby Flower, Butterfly & Heart are all stamps designed by the Fabby Hel's and soon to be available from The Artistic Stamper, (i believe some time in July... watch this space...) I used a pink archival ink and then clear embossed the images as the paper i stamped onto was shiny. Everything was assembled as per the sketch and finished with the wording and a few gems.

I hope it's ok
