Anyone for cake!

OK so it's not actual cake, and well its not for everyone.. but the title sounded good {ok its all i could think of} anyways...
I have my best friends wedding fast approaching and decided i wanted to make her a lovely gift box for all the treats, you know old, new,borrowed,blue.. so i decided on a 4 tier wedding cake box... it took me nearly all day to make but i am so happy with the outcome, it was defiantly worth all the hard work..

The photo's really don't do it justice
{i must try and get some better ones before i give it too her!}
I made 3 mini pizza boxes for the top 3 tiers and the bottom is a lidded box.
I used a selection of my MS punches to decorate the "cake" and some gold peel-offs.. {aarrhh i know.. peel-offs but it had to be done lol} and embellished with some red prima flowers & paper roses and leaves, oh and some sheer gold ribbon.
I'll not be crafting much now till after the wedding
but normal service should return early to mid sept, thanks for visiting x

Tis The Season...

...To be Jolly, Fa la la la la, la la, la la!

I don't know about jolly but I'm mighty happy with my finished card for the Friday Sketchers challenge this week, I adore Heidi's sketch #32 and may have to use it again to make more cards... but for now here is my efforts.
.................

I used all BG papers, {on the background one i also used a stamp from the Artistic Stamper to jazz it up a bit}, Prima leaves, and a Hänglar image {i really need some of these stamps} coloured using my copics..

October "Me 2 You"

Yep, another month and another project for one of my fellow Angels, this time Shaz.

Some time ago i made a motherboard (inspired by a card *of which you can see one similar here* i received by Angie).... what the hell is a motherboard i hear you ask... well basically you just take a sheet of plain paper or card and collage it, with papers, stamps whatever.... when complete it is called a motherboard (don't ask me why, i don't know!!) then you can use this to cut up and make great backgrounds and stuff on cards.... all sounds like alot of work your thinking.. and yes your right, it took way longer than i thought, and i still haven't done anything with it lol... but i digress, anyway at the same time of doing this MB i had some spare bits of paper and an old wooden picture frame, so decided to use up the bits by colleaguing the front of the frame. When done although i liked it, it just looked plain and un-interesting... and had been sat on my desk for several months looking so until recently when a sudden light bulb went off in my head! It's strange but great how sometimes an idea will just capture you and something you had no clue about one day, suddenly becomes clear the next.

Anyway i think I've waffled enough.. here it is completed...

I stamped friend onto the glass using black stazon and a large alphabet stamp set, then turned the glass over, stamped a couple of swirls in green stazon, followed by a an all over inking with my alcohol inks, let this dry, replaced the glass back in the frame and placed a piece of card over the whole back to seal in and protect from any damage. I then used glossy accents to highlight the wording from the front.

To finish i just added a few prima flowers, coloured a couple of clips using my sharpies and clipped one to each corner, added a couple of mini screw hooks and threaded a ribbon to hang.
Now it looks interesting and i do hope that Shaz likes it.

The Midnight Challange

Or as my mate called it... Dusk Till Dawn!!!

Last night i spend a few hours video chatting to a friend, as we're both crafters we decided to try and actually make something while nattering lol, i had come across a fab blog owned by a lady called Jacqueline who had been sweet enough to take the time to pop a comment on one of my posts,( i am really grateful to each and everyone of you that does this and thank you all xxx) and in return i was doing the same when i came across a gorgeous card which really caught my eye.

I get really fed up with the same old boring layout of cards so this i thought was perfect for our challenge... (thank you for the inspiration Jacqueline and i hope you don't mind i pinched your layout idea xx)

We also decided that to make it even more of a challenge that we would find a Challenge blog that inspired us further to get creating... and when we happened upon The OCC Basic Grey Challenge this week we thought YES that's the one.

As vain as this sounds, i love this card.
As alot of crafters know it's hard to use, let alone cut up your nicest papers but the finished card made it all worth it for me... (just means i will have to buy some more papers to stroke lol)
Anyway i think i have waffled enough...

Here is my effort

After copying the basic layout of Jacquelines card using 2 contrasting colours of textured cardstock, i set to adding different basic gray papers (all of which were from the BLUSH collection) to each section. The monkey i stamped out 3 times and layered just to give him a little dimension, he was coloured using my trusted copic's. I used a basic gray flourish and journling stamp, and a verse stamp which reads "The only way to have a friend is to be one". Finished with a few prima flowers layered up and a couple of poxy stickers. Ah voila.

Card Creations

I am finding it hard to produce cards, this was mainly what i did untill about a year ago when i discovered altered art and how much fun it can be. Anyway, since starting my altered journey i have found it increasingly difficult to think of ways to incorprate my inky messy side into my cardmaking. I have made a few cards reciently that i am quite happy with though, and i thought i would share them...... What do you think ?
