My Drawers are Rusty!

Over @ the Simon Says Stamp'n'Show challenge their theme is 

'Rustification'

And it just so happens I have learnt a very cool rusting effect in the Andy Skinner workshop i'm doing.

This piece almost didn't get made as my beloved Vagabond Mk#3 died yesterday.
Another one bites the dust, To say I was gutted would be an understatement as when their working there such a great machine.
Luckily I still had me old trusty cuttlebug and managed to finish the draws with a bit of faffing.

 I rusted the outside of the unit, I then coloured the drawers with 'antiqued bronze' and 'tarnished brass' distress stains. I stamped the drawers with one of Tim's mini stamps,  I stamped and cut out mini circles to re-enforce where I attached the buttons.

 Then it was just as case of filling with goodies, In this instance some washi tapes.

A bit of Vagabond Fun

I had completely forgotten about the 'where in the world is your vagabond' thing over on the sizzix blog, I know it's well past the time to do it but I was bored and I was sat doing nothing so instead of sending a pic of my vagabond sat on my desk like this:

I decided to have a little play and be creative on the computer, Well they did say to be creative...

And now my vagabond is outta this world hehehehe

See it even has all it's flight stickers now lol

No art today, just me being silly, back tomorrow with some proper inky stuff.

King For A Day!

Hay World
Can you believe another month has flown by and here we are now at August!!
But with a new month of course brings new challenges..
Starting with The Artistic Stamper
The theme this month is MEN
And along with that, the team has it's second product focus which is the ever so wonderful Distress and Adirondack Core'dinations pads.. I gotta tell ya I just love the stuff so it was a pleasure to work with.
Breaking News Flash... I finally got a replacement Vinny!! 
For those that don't know my Vagabond Vinny died a slow death not so long ago.. I sent it back for a replacement but QVC only went and refunded me instead.. I was not amused!! So I had to wait for the funds, then I hunted around for a Vinny MkII, Well I finally found one for £25 cheaper than I had originally paid so not all bad, and Saturday it finally arrived.. Hooray!!
So as you can see from my project I was a little excited and pretty much used every die I could on it lol

Starting with the the tag with I cut outta {i think} vintage photo card
I then stamped the Regency background  in a Gold acrylic dabber and distress up the edges with a paper distresser

 Next I die-cut the flags using the Pennants die and ran them through the Notebook embossing folder and sanded, I didn't know which side looked best so I alternated them, I attached them with some 3twist cotton twine {using only a single strand}
I then die-cut all 3 pieces from the Regal Crest die using a piece of white card for the crest, forest moss {i think} for the leaf rosette and dried marigold {i think} for the banner.
I stamped the sweet looking boy from the Childhood Dreams plate onto the crest in black Archival.
And edged with a gold pen. I gave the leaves a bit more colour by lightly sanding the edges and inking with peeled paint distress ink.
To finish my little king off I stamped & gold embossed the medium crown from the crowning glory plate onto a piece of card and cut out with my timmy scissors.

The last thing I did was to lightly sand some dried marigold {i think} card, then I die cut the Typeset Alphabet and picked out the letters I needed {the rest I put into my to use later pot} and using my already cut out banner I finished the tag.
And there you have it.. I look forward to seeing all your MEN theme projects throughout the month x

Diecut Collaboration!

So when i saw that Hels over @ the Sunday Stamper had the theme 'Diecuts' i was straight on the case..
Get it case.. vagabond!
I've a few birthdays coming up so decided to make cards.
I also decided that i was only going to use scraps,
You know how it is, you start something, cut this.. pull that out.. stamp this.. and don't use half of what you thought you would so it gets shoved in the 'I'll use that later' pile.. only for it to sit there forever and a day..
Well today it was their day!
Card one.. Which is also my entry for this weeks Simon Says Stamp'n'Show
'WORD' challenge, my word being Wish.

A real mish mash of elements.. bit of alcohol inked card, bit of embossed metal, Stampers Anonymous TH image, oh and of course said diecuts!
Card two...

Again an assortment, but mainly diecuts apart from the image which is Pucinni's Muse by Stampington, a little metal fancy corner and stamped dragonfly on acetate.
And finally some tattered florals i had cut from jean and lace turned into..

A little hair accessory.

Right i'm off for now to get inky maybe, if the old mojo is up to it..
It has been a bit hit and miss lately.. I find i work better when i have company, even if it is only via the computer but there isn't always someone around.
So how do you craft? Are you better on your own or do you like having someone to bounce ideas off and have a bit of a banter with?
Do you chat to friends like i do on skype or are you happy locked in a room on your own with your stash???

Finally on Form!

Dress form that is....

OMG how much am I loving the new 'sewing room' plate

I finally got to have a proper play with my vagabond and so far so frickin awesome.

It cuts through mount board like butter, and denim too, and all the while i have no pain in my wrists, it's just a dream.. If you are thinking about getting one i would definitely say go for it.

Right back to what i made...

I joined in with this weeks Tuesday Throwdown as there theme is 'Tag It'

I started with a distress stained tag, The dress form is cut from mount board, and i gathered some vintage doily edging to create the skirt.

The sentiment is one from Tim's new set, and the embossing folder is the 5x7 goochie script by cuttlebug.
I feel these may become a bit of an obsession so i apologies now if in a week or so you've seen far to many of them lol Project 2 is already underway lol

Look what the very very nice delivery man brought me!

OH YEAH, I'm doing a great big happy dance.
Not as good as meeting the man himself but definitely the next best thing.
 My OH only went and sneakily ordered it for me and it arrived yesterday.
Talk about a surprise! And he said i can buy myself a couple of dies to go with it.

It already has a pride of place amongst friends..

.. after i had played and played with it of course lol
