Well last night I busted out the dominoes, cracked open the alcohol inks and had a play..
Here is a sneak peek of one of my pieces

Texture Play and a Sneaky Peek!

I have been totally neglecting my blog lately.. sorry bout that, but i've had so much going on..
So today I decided to share 2 bits of art.
Firstly after being totally inspired by the fab Rach and after receiving one of her totally awesome textured ATC's
I decided to give the technique a try and have a play with texture paste..
Now mine came out no-where near as good as her's but it wasn't a bad first
attempt.
The second bit of art I wanted to share today isn't actually here but I have a sneaky peek for you

To see the whole piece you will need to hop on over to
The Artistic Stamper Team Blog

King For A Day!

Hay World
Can you believe another month has flown by and here we are now at August!!
But with a new month of course brings new challenges..
Starting with The Artistic Stamper
The theme this month is MEN
And along with that, the team has it's second product focus which is the ever so wonderful Distress and Adirondack Core'dinations pads.. I gotta tell ya I just love the stuff so it was a pleasure to work with.
Breaking News Flash... I finally got a replacement Vinny!!
For those that don't know my Vagabond Vinny died a slow death not so long ago.. I sent it back for a replacement but QVC only went and refunded me instead.. I was not amused!! So I had to wait for the funds, then I hunted around for a Vinny MkII, Well I finally found one for £25 cheaper than I had originally paid so not all bad, and Saturday it finally arrived.. Hooray!!
So as you can see from my project I was a little excited and pretty much used every die I could on it lol
Starting with the the tag with I cut outta {i think} vintage photo card
I then stamped the Regency background  in a Gold acrylic dabber and distress up the edges with a paper distresser
 Next I die-cut the flags using the Pennants die and ran them through the Notebook embossing folder and sanded, I didn't know which side looked best so I alternated them, I attached them with some 3twist cotton twine {using only a single strand}
I then die-cut all 3 pieces from the Regal Crest die using a piece of white card for the crest, forest moss {i think} for the leaf rosette and dried marigold {i think} for the banner.
I stamped the sweet looking boy from the Childhood Dreams plate onto the crest in black Archival.
And edged with a gold pen. I gave the leaves a bit more colour by lightly sanding the edges and inking with peeled paint distress ink.
To finish my little king off I stamped & gold embossed the medium crown from the crowning glory plate onto a piece of card and cut out with my timmy scissors.
The last thing I did was to lightly sand some dried marigold {i think} card, then I die cut the Typeset Alphabet and picked out the letters I needed {the rest I put into my to use later pot} and using my already cut out banner I finished the tag.
And there you have it.. I look forward to seeing all your MEN theme projects throughout the month x

12 tags of Christmas #Day 12 & 13 {the yippee i have my internet back edition}

OMG, so I wake up yesterday morning, run straight in to put the computer on to see Tim's Finale Tag and SHOCK HORROR
NO INTERNET
No internet, can you believe it!!! I nearly died, Ok that's a bit dramatic but at the time I was ready to cry.
Why this day above all others, So i thought what the hell am i gonna do! Apart from climb the walls all day!
Luckily i had my great friend & skype partner in craft Alison to the rescue..via phone!
No she's not a magician that made my internet all better but she did explain what Tim had done for his tag, listing colours, paper etc...
And that was all i had to go on...And this is how my version turned out

Not bad considering i had no idea what Tim's looked like.. and I totally forgot she said it had joy in the middle!
So after a few small alterations this morning he's my finished tag
And here is how i have them all on display in my craft room
I have just had THE MOST fun doing these tags for the first time, and it's been twice as nice having a friend to craft with, So big thank you's to both Tim and Alison xx
And coz i can't bare the though of there being no more tags, I'm carrying on!
You'll be seeing a tag from each and every day from now until christmas
The first of which can be seen over on the Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog
Thanks for stopping by x

'Canvas'ing for Time!

It's been ages since a did a mini canvas, but the need to get inky was strong so i went with it.
I also hadn't played with metal for a long time... but after this project i remember why!
This is one of those times where you have an idea but it never quite goes to plan.. I thought i'd be clever and use one of my Mabel stamps and try and take a rubbing in metal, but being rubber it isn't as easy as i'd hoped and the whole thing nearly went in the bin, eventually with much much patients i got an image that looked almost like the stamp, i added colour in the form of sharpie pens to the metal to define the image further.

The canvas was created by inking it all over with a mix of the brown tone distress inks. I then stamped different clocks onto a sheet of tissue paper, i let this dry and then made a square on the same piece of tissue using the measure tape stamp from the Ephemera 1 plate roughly making the square so that when i wrapped it round the canvas the edges would be.. as seen below

Once i'd stuck the tissue to the canvas using gel medium i smoothed it over very delicatly and added more medium over the top to seal it all. I let this dry.
I stuck the metal to the canvas using E600 and also added several actual small watch parts.
I wording was stamped onto a piece of torn cardboard and also glued on, with the finishing touch being a small chain to hang the piece.
All in all a fun afternoon was had although i really need a masterclass on metal use lol
Thanks for visiting x
