Finnabair Inspired Challenge!

Over on the Snazzy's DT Blog today we have a challenge for you.
Make a bit of art inspired by the very talented  Anna Dabrowska aka Finnabair.
You could be in with the chance of winning one of her fab mixed media journal by Prima.
I am a big fan of how Anna uses die-cuts in her scrapbook layouts so I decided to take my inspiration from there.
I started with a piece of  7dot studio paper and did some stencilling using Anna's new prima sunrise sunset stencils, I also did a tiny bit of stamping with her new clear mini stamps.
Next I added a few layers with some of the sunrise sunset papers, washi tape and the film strip die cut.
Time now for a photo, some more die cuts and other bits like lace and some of the prima sunrise sunset vintage trinkets.

Along with a wee bit more stamping with the mini cling stamps, I am loving the tiny little doily images, too cute..
And there you have it. A finn inspired bit of art.. What will you make?
I look forward to seeing how Anna inspires you.

A Snazzy Challenge

It's time again for a challenge over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
The theme this time is
'Spring Colours'
One lucky winner will get an Echo Park (Spring Collection) prize along with some small co-ordinating ink pads.
For my piece I worked with the very beautiful Prima 'Almanac' Papers on a kraft coloured card.
I just used lots of the elements from the different papers cut out and arranged.
The only add on's were a smidge of rock candy crackle on the eggs, some rock candy distress stickles and a prima art tile. {all available from Snazzy's}
As you may be able to tell I photographed the card when we actually had 'spring like' weather lol
This isn't my usual style but it was lots of fun deciding what elements to use and how to place them, and I am really pleased how it turned out, so much so that I also made a scrapbook layout, but i'll share that another time.
So dust off the wet and windy blues and think spring fresh, I look forward to seeing your entries.

A Snazzy Challenge

Hay there friends
Today see's the launch of the brand new
Snazzy's Challenge
The theme is Love/Romance
And 1 lucky person will win an awesome Prize pack containing some of the goodies the DT have been playing with this month.
Here is what I created:
We had a very cool Darkroom Door word block stamp to work with.
I Started with a plain canvas base, I cut a piece of acetate packaging to the same size as the canvas.
Next I alcohol inked with 'red pepper' & 'pink sherbet' on one side of the acetate, I then stamped the word block on the other in black stazon.
I diecut a sizzix heart and stamped it with the same word block but this time in 'angel pink' memento ink, I
used a 'pink carmine' pitt pen to add some edging to the lettering. I lined up the heart to the background and stuck down. I attached the acetate to the canvas using some fancy brads just pushed into the canvas wood edges.
I diecut 5 Tim Holtz pine cone shapes in a pink colour card, and rolled them into the roses which I topped the canvas with using a hot glue gun.
To finish and make it stand I attached a mini canvas to each side with a tack, I then covered the back of each mini canvas with some paper I had inked and stamped to match in with the main canvas.
The Darkroom Door stamp amongst other things can be ordered from Snazzy's, Just give them a call..
There is a online store in the pipelines hopefully to go live some time in feb.
So... Get your love groove on and get making.. Then get over to the Snazzy's DT blog to share what you've made.
Cant wait to see your entries
