Let's fly away!

Hay Peeps... So today i have a little picture art to share..
I picked up this fab ickle set of 3 frames {amoungst other things to alter} about a month ago and have been waiting for inspiration to strike.. which last night it did!

I decided i would fill each picture gap with black utee and then i stamped
3 of the fab little winged critters from the insects & butterflys plate into the utee while it was still warm.
Once the utee had gone cold I dusted some red mica powder paint to make the bugs really pop.
I coated the frames with a ivory coloured acrylic and just made a sort of crackle effect with the paint brush, one dry i rubber some white mica powder all over to give a nice shimmer.
You can see in this pic how that mica really pops in certain lights..
most if not all the supplies i used are available from The Artistic Stamper
This piece fits in with a multitude of challenges amazingly..
Sunday Stamper -  'WINGS of a dove'
Wednesday Stamper - Hip to be 'SQUARE'
Gingersnap Creations -#56 - 'Burgundy, Ivory & Black'
Thanks for stopping by, Have a great Bank Hol.. as usual i'll be working!!!

WOYWW #48

Did you miss me.. I totally skipped a week... not quite sure what happened there.. maybe i was abducted by little green men or something..Well anyways i'm back now and ready to share whats on my workdesk with Julia and the rest of the crew.
As you can see i've had a little play with the melt pot... I firstly made up a few molds.
Then got the UTEE out and filled a few up, i also made a couple of pieces like the cogs by pouring hot UTEE onto the stamp {which i'd inked with versamark to act as a realise agent}
A bit of a rub with some perfect pearls and voila.. now I just have to find some spare time to make something with them...
The other things i'm sharing today are this fab manaquin that i picked up on sale at a nearby craft fair.. it's making a wonderful pin custion
At the same fair i did a couple of workshops, this french knitted necklace is one of the pieces i created.
I must admit that i got sucked in and brought the 'wonder knitter' that helped create this and i've since made about 30.. i'm hoping to maybe sell a few.. although mine are a bit different in style and alot more fluffy..
.....
Think thats about it for today.. oh i nearly forgot, for those of you that wanted to see the cuff i had hidden a couple of weeks ago it's HERE
I'll try my best to visit everyone but my time seems to vanish b4 i can blink.
Take care, and happy snooping!

Altered Swap

This month over on UK Stampers there altered swap is bottle tops.
I had no idea what i was going to make until a few days ago when typically as i was just packing up and about to go to bed the idea struck me {ideas always seem to appear as I'm packing up!}

I would make a bracelet, and instead of bending the tops outwards i would bend them inwards {obviously to remove the sharp edges away from the skin!}
And here is my finished piece...
{sorry for the multiple pics but i got carried away with the light box and couldn't decide which pic i liked best so you have all 3 lol}
...

...

...

...
I cut out some small circles from an old book page, stuck then in the centre of the tops, then folded in the edges of the tops using a small pair of pliers.
Next i popped a hole in either side of the top using my crop-a-dile.
I cut & bent some common garden wire to become the links, adding a paper bead to each wire and then attaching one top to the next.
I completed by topping each top with some UTEE direct from the melt pot, it went quite amber as it had been heated for quite a while {it was the remains of the UTEE from my paper beads project}
I added a small clasp and hoop so it could be worn.
And that's it... any questions please feel free to ask.
I hope whoever receives it like it!
..
Thanks for stopping by,
come back soon.
