Day late Grungy Monday!

Ok so the preparations for the fair are going fairly well but I just had to take a little break from the intense owl making! It's amazing just how much work it takes to get ready for a fair!! Who Knew!
Still it's all an experience and all part of my journey.
Anyways, enough with my waffle, what I was trying to get at is I took time out yesterday to have a little skype session with Ali and decided to play along with Grungy Monday as I had missed last weeks being so busy and all!
I had so much fun with Tim's technique I actually made a grand total of 4 cards, but today I'll be sharing the first one I made
I used the gorgeous 'agapanthus long' stamp from stampendous, and as I don't own any of the adirondack dye ink pads I used my memento's and they worked brilliantly.
I also used a penny black butterfly and one of Tim's sayings.
I'll blog the rest of my cards throughout the week.
Right back to the grindstone for me!

Bad Blogger!

You'll have to forgive my sporadic blogging of late, I decided to go ahead and have signed up for a locally run craft fair, So I am frantically trying to get enough stock made so my table doesn't look bare lol
That and trying to get my knee back fighting fit with lots of gentle exercise!
The poor blog is taking third place at the moment.
So in the mean time I thought i'd share this simple little card so you're not looking at an empty space!

I've used stampotique's Portland backed onto a simple paint stamped and washed background.
I'm also sorry if i've not made it round to your blog, once i'm a bit more prepared for the show i'll be hopping on by to say hi for sure xx

Very Late Desk!

Can you believe it's the one hundred and second WOYWW, almost PIF week and i've still not sorted my piece.. better get my skates on! I almost didn't post today coz I woke late, then by the time i'd had breakfast, sorted the bird feeders {which by the way I seem to be filling daily the greedy ickle birdies} sorted some other bits it's already lunchtime!
So anyways here is my desk, and it's in a bit of a jumble i'm afraid!
Since finding out about doing a local craft fair I have been busy making jewellery, but not at my desk, thats just been the sort and store area, i've been sat snug on the sofa doing it!
See I told you it was jumbled, there is just about everything out.
And if you wonder why there is a big stash of poker chips, thats because i'm gonna turn them into brooch pendants. Right I can't stay here chatting things to do, blogs to hop etc..

Waffle Warning!

If you hopped over thinking it was a catchy title for some art, sorry, It is what it says it is, a warning that todays post is mainly me waffling!
Well I managed my first proper little walk about post op on saturday,
I had heard about a local craft fair so wanted to investigate, It was a nice little fair only about 10-15 stalls but very friendly with a nice selection of things, I was good and didn't buy anything, but I did speak to the organizer and have decided to give it a try myself in a month or so. It will be my first proper fair so if anyone has any tips i'd love to here them. So a good day all round.
Sorry no art, I'm not able to sit at my desk for too long, so am having to craft in mini sessions, thus it taking 3 times as long to make anything! but it's getting better by the day.
Oh I tell a lie, there is a little bit of art, over on the Artistic Stamper team blog today.

Grungy Friday 13th!

Before you all go on about friday the 13th being unlucky, I'll stop you right there, I don't believe it, It's a lucky day, Today especially as it's my Mum's Birthday
Happy Birthday Mummy x Love you xx
Seems these past few weeks i've managed to be grungy on every day but a monday!
But hay it's the taking part that counts right, no matter what day!
So here is my late offering for this weeks Grungy Monday
The prompt is taken from Tims 12 tags of Christmas 2007 day 8
I did the effect on my tag using snowcap dabber and victorian velvet distress ink, and I backed my tag with some grey textured card to highlight the word I had cut out using one of Tim's fab dies.
I embellished with a rosette topped with an spun sugar stained fabric rose, and some glassine elements.
Thanks for hopping by, Hopefully blogger will now behave itself after all the problems of the past few days!

What's on my desk and why!

Firstly the why.. Yesterday was the first day since my op that I managed to feel able to sit and craft, and I was dying to try another of the fab tutorials on the Hero Arts site, I happened to have a poppy background stamp I wanted to use and low and behold The Stampman Challenge had 'poppies' as there theme so I set to work.
I have to admit that it did take me 3 attempts to get the technique right and by the end my poor knee was mighty uncomfortable but it was worth it.
And here is what's on my messy desk after I had finished it!
Sorry I missed last week, Hope everyone is well, I'll try and get round some desks today but can't promise i'll make it to all as sitting at the comp is still a tad painful after a little while, think I need to invest in a netbook so I can surf while on the sofa!
Happy Hopping

Captured Moments!

As some of you may know I have been into hospital for a small operation to fix my knee, I was in and out in a day and am recovering well at home, Thanks to all that left me kind messages on my blog/twitter & Facebook xxx
So luckily this week Simon Says to Stamp'n'Show 'Anything'
So I've chosen to show a key chain/bag charm that I made b4 my op, I hope thats ok as i'm still not up to crafting just yet.
I stamped, coloured and shrunk some of the images from Sam Poole's Vintage Photography plate
Mixed in some Idea-ology, A fragment and a friendly plastic molded camera.

Attached it all together with chain and hay presto a charm fit for any photographic lover
I hope to be back crafting very soon, missing it something chronic! Sad I know but true!

A humble card!

Just a quickie card today as nothing is really inspiring me at the moment.
I have the operation on my knee tomorrow morning so am fretting bout that i think. It's only a day surgery and I should be home in the afternoon, all being well. Fingers crossed!
I've used all Tim stamps and distress inks and worked on cartridge paper that I spritzed with water to bleed the colours into each other.
I have a couple of reserve pieces i've made to share while i'm out of action {hopefully not for too long}
Think of me tomorrow won't you, positive healing vibes please x
