WOYWW & A Sneak Peek!

Today I was going to have the title WIOMWW
{what isn't on my workdesk wednesday}
 I seem to have a bit of everything out on show.. Ink, stamps, clay...I'm becoming very bad at putting stuff away lately! Oh and before you ask the flamed out area is my latest DT project of which I can share a sneak peek
The whole piece can be found over on The Artistic Stamper team blog today
I know a lot of you will say my desk isn't messy but believe me, for me it's getting pretty bad,
So the only question now is "Will it be tidy next week!"
I guess you'll just have to wait and see!
Till then

Grungy Grunge Day!

YAY another thing on my to do list completed.... I was having a play yesterday evening and came across a blank grungeboard bracelet I had pre-cut to size, so as Grungy Monday is having a 'grungeboard extravaganza' challenge I figured it was time to do something with it.
I started by giving it a coat of snow cap dabber, then coloured with peeled paint distress stain.
{waited for this to dry and re-apply more stain}
Once that was all dry I stamped a Wendy Vecchi phrase and a part-section of an Artistic Stamper brush image.  I then used forest green stazon to add some Wendy Vecchi dots, masking off the brushes first.
For the closure I used a Tim Holtz hitch fastener and a large green eyelet {which I now know to be a tad too big, but hay ho}
I matte accented the phrase and then gave the whole thing a coat of matte medium to seal.
Granted it didn't really turn out very grungy but hay that's OK.

Until next time

 'Anything Tim' theme, and i'm always down for that.
And Just For Fun have a 'Metal' theme
So to me that screamed Jewellery!!
So I made an idea-ology necklace for my craft fair.. one of many I might add
 With the help of a pretty heart button and some rub'n'buff
I came up with this.
Only several more 100 to go... well I want to have a nice stock for my september fair don't I!

WOYWW 110

As you can see from my pic my desk hasn't altered much since last week, still a mess just with stuff pushed from here to there.. The only thing you may notice is that 'Vinny' my vagabond is missing, unfortunately he died a slow death {and is off to join Hel's 'Victor' in vagabond heaven!!} well actually he is being sent back from whence he came to be replaced!
My sincere apologies for not making it round to you all last week, My good intentions were overtaken by my last minute craft fair prep and I didn't have a minute spare.
This was my very first craft fair and although it was a fairly quiet day I made enough to cover my cost and a little extra.. This is my set up
I made a selection of idea-ology jewellery, some felt and button rings, along with cards, boxes and my recyc'owls.
Sorry the pics are rubbish, I had to use my phone as my mini camera also died a death!
I have another fair in September so shall frantically be making christmas cards from here on in I think lol
{famous last words lol}
Right today I have nothing to do so hopefully I shall be by to have a nosey at your WOYWW space soon,
 until then..

Grungy WOYWW Return!

OMG it feels like forever since I shared my desk with my lovely chums over at WOYWW.... think it's been nearly 2 months!!
So here I am finally fighting fit {touch wood} ready to share the mess that IS my desk
I've been getting inky to play along with this weeks Grungy Monday, where the wonderful Linda has chosen this fab technique of Tims, having fun with a mini mister! And boy did I have alot of fun.
I got a little carried away and actually made 3 cards,
The above was my first using all Tim stamps,
The second was a mix of Tim, Artistic Outpost and Wendy Vecchi stamps
And the third
A mix of Tim and Artistic Outpost.
I also made a few key-rings with some left over sprayed card but i'll share them another day.
I have a feeling I shall be making a fair few more using this technique.
I have one more nights work so if I don't get round to your blog today I hope to make it round by the weekend x

What a Doll!

It has been an absolute age since I have played along with the lovely Gals over at
Alter It Monthly
This month it's 'Valley of the Dolls'
Now this is not usually my sort of art theme but I just happened to be in the middle of finishing a piece of jewellery perfect for the challenge.
 I coated a fractured doll with gold marker pen, then buffed it with a cloth to dull it down a bit.
I wrapped a couple of mini resistors round for some added interest.
I then mounted it onto a gold dragonfly charm with E600 and attached a jump ring and ball chain to turn it into a necklace.
Simple but effective!

Grungy Saturday/ Mojo Monthly!

Woo Hoo.. Finally I get to re-join in with Grungy Monday's all be it a bit late this week.. I had a few teething troubles to start {in that everything I touched went horribly wrong}, so I left it a few days and finally my brain kicked back into mojo flow and I created this ickle offering after watching the master at work of course.
I re-used the mini canvas that was one of my naff efforts by just ripping the canvas off it so I was just left with the wooden frame, I inked the wood with expresso and stonewashed alcohol ink,  I then backed it with book page mounted on card.
I inked a domino with the same colours and then stamped one of my new Artistic Outpost images in blue stazon. I also used the blue round the edges of the frame to give it a nice finish.
Not the most elaborate project i've ever done but i'm happy with it after all the disasters that occurred before it lol
As 'hinted' by the lovely Sarah, I am also sharing my piece over @ my mojo monthly
 A fantastic place to be inspired and also to try and help inspire others.

Feelin... Hot Hot Hot!

So here we are over half way through the year.. can you believe it!!
 It will soon be chri***** LOL
{Hush my mouth I hear you cry!}
But far from that, this months new Artistic Stamper Challenge congers up visions of long summers days with their
'HOT HOT HOT theme'
{basically use hot colours}
I have to confess that I find it really difficult to work with this colour pallet, I'm not sure why, but I worked through it and I decided to alter an 8x8 canvas
Using a selection of Artistic Stamper stamps and Tim Holtz Dies I created a little slice of summer.
Make sure you hop on over to see all the smoking 'hot' creations from the rest of the team.
