Stenciled: Day 3

I finally got around to trying some of day 3's techniques.
All of which were about playing with Texture paste.

The 1st card is just using liquitex texture paste.

The second was using Viva Decor Ferro

I've still plenty more things to try so if your not totally sick of seeing stencilled card, come back soon to see more!

Stenciled: Day 1

My lovely wee friend Sarah gifted me this online card class as a PIF.
I was quite excited as I have a ton of stencils that don't get nearly enough use as they should.
And these are the first 3 cards made from the first 3 lessons on Day 1.

Sponging

Misting

Heat Embossing

I've still got a couple more to try from day 1 but i've made a start which is good for me lol
Back soon with more of the same!

Last Minute Entry!

Just in the nick of time I managed to have a wee play this morning with some PaperArtsy grunge paste as inspired by Frances 3rd and final offering of the week over on the PA Blog.
I translated her project into a couple of cards as I have 2 birthdays coming up next week.
I removed the gause I used for the first tag and stuck it to another tag with some more GP, giving me a positive and negetave to work with {sort of}.
I cut each down to fit the card and used the off cuts for the hearts.
I also added a little shrinkie to each as it just needed a little something extra.
I didn't do added texture through the stencil like France, but instead added some stencilling to the card with frescos.
Hope you like.

Simon Says: Backgrounds!

Over on the Simon Says Stamp'n'Show blog there theme has been 'Backgrounds' and yesterday I finally managed to have a little play with some of my new stash from Ally Pally,
Hurrah!!
I used 'broken china', 'brushed pewter' & 'spiced marmalade' distress paint {YAY I FINALLY HAVE SOME} for my background.
I then cut the paper into 4 and stamped using the fab images from the 'time travellers' set {also new, whoooo lol}
I used my 'picket fence' distress marker to highlight, and then colour the images.
And finished with some dymo punched wording.
I still have A LOT more playing to do so if you'll excuse me that's what i'm gonna do, Ta Ra for now.

Outta the Blu!

Good day fellow crafter's, I hope you all had a crafty weekend.
I sure did making my entry for the Brand Spanking New monthly Indigo Blu Challenge.
And when you see the prize that's on offer you'll wanna play along too.
The first theme as you might expect is BLUE.
And here is my offering:
I decided to work with the 'Wreathed in Smiles' set

{which you can see is a christmas set} as I had won it from my local craft store {Craftasmic} over the christmas period but not had chance to use it. It just shows how versatile the stamps are.
***
I started by stamping the swirl in the 4 corners, I then stamped the wreath onto a nesties 'labels 22' die-cut.
I layered another nesties 'floral oval' over the top making it look like I used a background stamp.
I made a bow from seam binding, flattened it out as best I could and used the bow stamp on top, I wasn't sure it was gonna work but it came out really good.
I stamped and fussy cut 2 ferns and layered up the card adding a red heart, metal embossed & inked butterfly, mini roses and some lace.
***
I hope you like my offering, I'll have my fingers, toes and everything else crossed come the 21st of next month lol.
***
Right I must dash, It's my week over on the Snazzy's DT blog and my posts won't write themselves lol
here is a wee peek at my first project which is up already HERE.

Happy Valentines x

Just a quick post today to share the card I made for my Man

I decided on a retro vintage feel for the surprise tag card.
I used Tim Holtz 'vintage love' paper from the 'seasonal stack' and his 'love struck' stamp set.

I also used the 'love struck' alteration die, distress ink, 'rock candy' distress stickles and glossy accents.
This is the card flat, I did 2 shots as you can see the sparkle of the distress stickles, and the glossy accents I put over the mini blackboard.

You pull the tag and the message appears, As you can see it's not really visible in all lights.
I embossed with distress powder but it faded into the black background, so a covered the whole thing with 'white fire' treasure gold, and then lightly sanded over the top, allowing you to see the message in certain light.

I'm entering this in The 3 Muses challenge as their theme is 'Red'
I hope each and everyone one of you has a wonderful day,
I'll be back tomorrow with my PaperArtsy Challenge piece.
Till then...

I absolutely love the Halloween candle and how by snipping off either side it becomes the perfect Christmas candle.
I hope you are all prepared for the festive season and if I don't see you B4 have a wonderful Christmas x

A Christmas Challenge

There is a 'Christmas' theme over on the Crafty Boots Blog,
I thought it would be rude not to join in given the amount of Christmas cards i've made.
But i'm just sharing the 1 with you today
I love this card as it's one that just got chucked together with a load of random bits that were laying about on my desk.
I'm not usually a minimal card maker so the temptation to keep adding was hard to resist but I made myself only use those leftover bits and nothing more.
This has been sent to my uncle overseas, I hope he likes it.

B4 I go I just wanted to share that today is my last post of 2012 for Snazzy's.

Christmas Kraft Emboss.

Ok, here they are, the last set of Kraft cards for a while.
I've already entered The Stamp Man 'Emboss It' challenge once but that was heat embossing, so decided to enter again but this time using embossing folders.
Again these are real simple to make, The top one's are me inking the embossing folder b4 running the card through the machine, The one's below are emboss first and then ink.
And then all were wrapped with some christmas divine twine, and finished with some silk poinsettias, the smaller petals were actually white but I inked them to match the large to give the flower more dimension. The leaves are also silk and were finished with some die-cut mini swirls {inspired by a card the lovely Julia of The Stamping ground made} Right that's it for the kraft... Promise.
I'll be back tomorrow for a spot of desk hopping and to share yet another thing that Julia inspired me to make/do!
Till then.. Stay Inky

Last 2..

Today see's the last of my DT projects over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
and that means me sharing my final couple of kraft cards I made
This one was stamped with cotton white stazon {available from Snazzy's} the the Christmas Cottage acrylic stamps by Teresa Collins, The wording was embossed with WOW powder
And this was a variation on the first card I shared on monday, only I staggered the tree a bit more, just because I don't like making all my cards the same.
I hope you have felt inspired to get some christmas cards made.
Think i'm all crimbo'd out, well for this week at least!
Till next time..
