It's that Time!

I just wanted to come and wish all my lovely blogging buddies and friends alike a Very Happy Christmas.
I have a busy few days now with family and friends so doubt i'll be blogging much.

I also wanted to say in case you didn't know that at the beginning of the month I retired from the Artistic Stamper DT, I ment to put a post up then but my head wasn't on straight so I wanted to do it now and just Thank Jennie & Hels for the having me be part of an amazing team for the past 3-4 years.
I've had a great time and met some wonderful people, I just felt it the right time to move on.
And they say as one door closes another opens and for me that couldn't be truer as just last week I was invited to become a member of another DT... But more on that in the new year!!
*****
Thank you all for your continued support throughout this year which for me has been pretty difficult with health issues so here's hoping 2012 will be a better one!

Sending all my love to you all

Tree-mendous!!

Me again.. No not with the last Timmy tag, but with one of his awesome Christmas trees.
As soon as I saw Tim's tree project yesterday I immediately got out all the supplies and made one, but instead of a cotton reel I used a little blank wooden gift box.
It was a bare wood box so I stained it with vintage photo distress ink and then stuck ribbon to all sides like a present.
I also added lots of swarovski crystals for that added magical touch.
I am so gonna make more of these...if I can find the time that is!!
Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas x

Still Lagging!

Well as you can see i've still not completed day 12 of the Timmy tags YET
So instead I thought I would share a couple of the boxes I made to sell at my recent christmas fair.
I used a mixture of  alterations dies
 Inkadinkado stamps
And MME papers.
I'm really pleased how they turned out, What do you think?
Right I best get on.. still got cards to write and post!!
Catch ya later

Running Late!!

Ello my lovelies.. Sorry for the vanishing act..seems my mojo upped and left me for a couple of days..
But it returned last night and I finally managed to get day 11 of
Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas finished.
I've actually never tried the shrink plastic/utee in the meltpot b4 and I have to say I am loving the results.
The pieces come out looking like glass, It's very cool!
As he's a retro santa i've given him a retro photo makeover.
Hopefully now the old mojo has returned i'll manage to get day 12 finished some time b4 christmas !!
 So till then...

Oh Baubles!

Hay Peeps
Here I am again a day late with another of Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas
It's tag number 10 which obviously means only 2 more to go :(
I've not done the tape transfer thing in ages so it was fun to re-visit the technique.
I used both silver and copper foils to give variety.
But as you can see I may well have rubbed a little to much off as mine came out very faint.
Still the overall effect was there so i'm happy.
Thanks for visiting, see you again soon I hope x

I Give Up!

And before you think i'm giving up Tim's 12 tags of Christmas...Oh no no no, what I mean is i'm giving up trying to be on time!!
I was up nice and early {for me} yesterday morning, I hopped straight onto Tim's blog to find a super tag that wasn't to completed, So I though, right.. today is the day i'm getting back on track..
I should of know it was never gonna happen.
I was happily getting stuck in when my dear OH reminded me we would be leaving soon for dinner at the outlaws.. Are you kidding me!!
Anyways..Long story short, I had a lovely roast dinner, got back late and finally got to finish my tag!
For my background I used a large Penny Black cling stamp called 'poinsettia script' and I switched up the colours using the 'festive berries' to stamp and 'peeled paint' over the top.
My candlestick had to be hand cut as it's another of the dies I don't own!
And there you go.
So I guess i'll catch ya all again tomorrow for day 10's tag..Till then..

Always one step behind!!

Well it seems Tim and his 12 tags of Christmas are always one step ahead of me..lol
Here I am again on day 9 sharing with you my day 8 tag.
Now believe it or not I had every single product to make the day 8 tag but I chose not to!!
Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great steampunky piece, but I just wasn't feelin it, so I decided to festive mine up a bit and i'm loving the results.. even thought it took like 4-5 hours lol
Maybe today will be my catch up day..but I doubt it!
Till we meet again..{prob tomorrow}

Almost on Track!

This 12 Tag's of Christmas malarkey is certainly keeping me on my toes!
I think i'm doing ok and then along pops another tag lol
I finally got the embossing folder to complete day 3's tag and although it's a fairly simple technique, I kinda like it
Day 7's tag was quite fun too, not really played with the glassine till now apart from die-cutting pinecones!
I like the inked effects so will have to try and remember to do it more often!
I didn't have the holly die so I cut my own leaves and branch, And the trim at the top was a random piece I found while looking for some lace, it matched the colour of the tag perfectly so I had to add it!
Right I best tag on... half the day has flown by already and i've accomplished nothing!
Till tomorrow..

Making it Work!

Well here we are on day 7 of Tim's 12 tags of Christmas....
Like someone pointed out we are already half way through! It seems to go so quick!
Apart from when i'm trying to hash a tag that is.. then it takes forever!!
And on that note here is my Day 6 tag.
I didn't have the correct folder so I went with the flow and this is what emerged!
I wasn't keen on the all over painted look so I did mine a little different but in principle there the same.. Foil..paint..sand..ink..emboss!
And for my charm I made a little Santa pendant with some embossing and glass glitter.
I have to admit I am really chuffed with how this tag came out..
And can't wait to see what today's tag will bring!
So till then..

Finally Caught Up!

...Well apart from today's.. oh yeah and day 3 lol
I am of course talking Tim's 12 tags of Christmas
But I have managed Day 5's tag
As you can see I didn't have the reflections stamps, so instead I inked the front of the tag, did the same technique but I just used one of Tim's music stamps, and then to protect the surface I lay another piece of acetate over the top.
Not too shabby for another botched tag!
I wonder what is in store next!
Until then..

Playing Catch Up!

OK So day 1 of the 12 Tags of Christmas started so well, I was up nice and early and ready for action...
Now i'm barely keeping my head above water drowning in a sea of unfinished tags!!
It took me all of yesterday to finish Tag 2 because I had zero supply's on the list so had to fudge it as best I could!

I just love the canvas deer, too cute!

Tag 3..
Well let's just say that is still a work in progress.. i'm waiting on the embossing folder to arrive and then all it needs is the foliage to finish it off!

And then lastly Tag 4
Again I didn't have half the stash needed so most of it is had cut by hand but I managed
even though it took forever!!
And So on to today's tag.. Well what a surprise no reflections stamps and on that note i'm off to rack my brain and come up with a plan of action!
Thanks for dropping by x

The Wanderer Returns!!

Hello Blogland
I am so sorry for being absent for a whole month but i've got a good excuse.
I went to London the beginning of last month to see my folks and attend a Dina Wakely class, unfortunately fate had other plans for me and gave me a collapsed lung instead, so I spent a night in hospital as it was only a partial collapse, I then spent the following week resting at my mums,
I returned home and went to the hospital for a routine follow up x-ray only to be told they were keeping me in coz my lung had properly collapsed again and that's where i've been for the past 3+ weeks.
I've had 2 operations and am now full of holes but I'm home and recovering.
Hopefully I will be able to get inky soon as i've missed it something chronic but i'm still pretty sore so it could be a little while yet.
I hope your all well, I'm sure I have missed a ton of arty goodness, I hope to get chance to hop round some blogs in the next few weeks.
Right that's me done for the night, Catch ya all in blogland soon,
Until Then

Autumn is Here...

or is it???
The past 2 days have been el scorchio and more like the height of summer than winters coming!!
Go figure, not that I mind as i'm now on holiday for 2 weeks.
No what I was actually referring to in the title, was the new theme for this months
 Artistic Stamper Challenge
with there
Autumn Colours Theme
I splodged some paint and ink about with plenty of stamping to make a journal page
I can't really give instructions how the page was made coz I just got into the zone and went with the flow
but all the background stamps and what not are from jennie @ The Artistic Stamper online store.
And there is a whopping 25% off selected journalling stamps so get yourself a bargain while the offer lasts!
Then get inky and join in the challenge, We'd love to see what you come up with!
***
As you are reading this I am away doing a class on how to better use my fancy camera.
Hopefully i'll have something to report back in the next day or 2 with maybe a pic or 3 if I manage to master anything lol
Until then..

OMG BAD BLOGGER!

There just aren't enough hours in the day for me lately
What with work, and craft fairs and other such things I hardly have time for myself.
I did however make this the other day after watching the fab Sarah demo a larger version.
Her's was focused on a plastic bottle base and became a pen/brush etc holder, but for mine I have used some mini glass pots and intend to use them as candle holders.
Front view:
 Back view:
So a very big thank you to Sarah for the amazing project.
I shall be making more of these for sure {when I have time lol}
I'll be back on Tue with my AS DT piece
So till then

If you like this....

Then you'll probably love my offerings over on the Artistic Stamper Team Blog today.
I used to alter dominoes all the time but it's one of those things that I just hadn't done for an age..
I think this ickle one below is one of the last ones I did and that has to be at least a year ago for sure!
Well last night I busted out the dominoes, cracked open the alcohol inks and had a play..
Here is a sneak peek of one of my pieces
Don't give much away do I! You'll have to hop over the the AS blog to get the full picture
