My friends son had a birthday recently. He is on the autistic scale and doesn't have parties like other kids.. So mum does a shout out to get all her crafting buddies to send him cards..
I decided to make him a little something for his shelf as he goes to a special boarding school...
He received it today and loved it which I'm so chuffed about.
It was created from an old kiddies wooden letter cube, i colored it with green self made glimmer mists {made with distress ink, water and perfect pearls}, once that was dry i added some swishes of white paint dabber to give it an aged feel. I coated the whole piece with a glossy sealer.
I had a stock of old scrabble tiles so used these to make up the name,
I twisted several pieces of garden wire, Made small holes in the bottom of each tile to thread the wire through and then glued in place using E6000, and backing with a small circle of green card.
I used pliers to push each wire into the wood. {it was quite soft wood}
Then all i needed were a couple of boy themed embellishments to finish.. i found some buttons and a word brad in my stash which were perfect.
And there you have it.
