Tim Tags - Minxy Style

It's been absolutely ages and ages since i did anything in my favourite Tim stylee.
I figured as i had completely missed his 12 tags of Christmas i would conjure up 12 tags of my own with nothing but Tim stamps, Distress Inks and a Minxy twist!
That twist being that my tags actually make up a rather nifty 2010 calender.
Here's the front view....

... And here is the back.

I'll be sharing the 12 calender pages over the next few days.. just in time to take part in the FAB CANDY being offered by the very kind Jennie @ The Artistic Stamper
If you haven't already joined in, all ya need is to make a Tim tag or too.. check out the link in my side bar at the top of the page :)
See you tomorrow for the first 3!

Christmas...

Just wouldn't be Christmas
without the mandatory pair of crimbo earings...
So here they are..

I created these absolute beauties {lol} by stamping Holly onto some shrink plastic, colouring with sakura gel pens and finishing with some seed beads and earing findings :)
....
I may have time for another post b4 crimbo but just in case i dont
Wishing all my Blogland friends
A Very Merry Christmas

Aw well...
Here it is... the 5th and final card of the bunch.
I hope you have enjoyed viewing my quick makes, and that they inspired you to get your skates on too... there are only 2 weeks left after all!!!
HUMBUG lol
My final change was again to flip back to portrait and to use the super cute Christmas scene from the Victorian Christmas 2 plate
I also snipped & re-positioned 'holly' in this one aswell.

And like all the cards that came b4 it, a list of the
other supplies used: A standard base card. {A6 i think}
A sheet of gold shimmer paper edged using the MS Crown Punch set.
A stamped and copic coloured
Mabel Lucie Attwell 'Holly' image which has been cut out.

I have one last project that i wanted to share using the fab 'Holly' stamp..

Fab 5 Holly... Day 2

Here we are again for the second of the quick cards... and kinda quick posts too, but there really isn't alot to tell so....
If you missed day one.. dont worry, just scroll down below this post to find it.
...
This time i've turned my base card to landscape and created interest using the fab jolly santa stamp from the artistic stamper Christmas plate 3.
I also chopped 'Holly' from his original position to place him behind the leaves

Unfortunatly the photos arn't up to par, But you can just see from the back 2 cards in the shot that the gold paper is indeed sparkly.. even though it just looks brown.
Same supplies as yesterday:
A standard base card. {A6 i think}
A sheet of gold shimmer paper edged using the MS Crown Punch set.
A stamped and copic coloured
Mabel Lucie Attwell 'Holly' image which has been cut out.
Hand made sentiment using SU oval and scalloped oval punches & some gold sheer ribbon.
Walnut Stain
Distress ink
Brown Stazon
Again i hope you come back tomorrow for card no.3

FAB 5 Holly...Day 1

Hay peeps.. Today sees the first of 5 quick cards i made to try and combat the fact that i, like every other year am way behind with the festive stuff... even though i promised myself it would be better this year! Who was i kidding..
I made a batch of 5 of each design using minimal supplies
And here is Holly 1
All i used for each card was:
A standard base card. {A6 i think}
A sheet of gold shimmer paper edged using the MS Crown Punch set.
A stamped and copic coloured Mabel Lucie Attwell 'Holly' image which has been cut out.
Hand made sentiment using SU oval and scalloped oval punches & some gold sheer ribbon.
Walnut Stain Distress ink
Brown Stazon
And this card has the use of the tiny snowflake stamp from the Christmas Greetings 2 plate..
...
You'll see over the next couple of days nearly all the supplies are the same bar a few stamp changes! Proving you dont need alot to make quick creative cards.
Hope to see you again tomorrow for card no.2

Birthday book for a friend!

Recently my friend had her 40th birthday and i wanted to make something as a keepsake.
I decided on a tag book.
I started off with 6 blank chipboard tags

I covered both the backs and the fronts with plain coloured and patterned paper.. adding some detail to the plain paper using the simple swirls stamps in corresponding versa ink colours
{you should be able to click the pic for a closer look}
I used my BIA to punch the holes and bound it with pretty ribbons instead of the o'wires.

I had some wooden letters of which i managed to spell 'forty'.. i coloured these with dabbers, a touch of distress ink and some rock candy crackle

The other wording i created using the fab mini scrabble alphabet stamped onto kraft cardstock and cut out

I just had to add a couple of the brand new mabel stamps... coloured with copics.. i really feel these made the book complete. {they're so darn cute}

Oh and i stamped out several of the flower power blooms onto more plain coloured paper and added pattern using a selection of background stamps and white versacolour ink, i cut them out and pinched each petal to give some dimension. I dotted them here, there and well everywhere lol.. I also added a few to the back so it wasn't plain and boring.

Then all that was needed was a quick gift bag made using my score-pal and one sheet of 12x12 paper/card that i learned to make on a make and take at ally pally last year.. or was it year b4.. anyho..

Sorry i've waffled.. it was kinda a big project.. hence a kinda long post!..very time consuming but worth it to know my friend got a lovely keepsake and she loved it.. which is good!

My Purple Heart....

Another week and time for another PlayDateCafe challenge...
Here is the inspiration and colours
And here is what i came up with
I'd not made any jewellery in quite a while..
I went to a small craft show in sept and got lots of fab lampwork beads... plus i have lots of other 'home stock' but had since done nothing with them, this challenge was the kick up the bum i needed!
Unfortunately the camera just didn't pick up the rich purple tones of the hearts very well.
All the beads are threaded onto a wire base and then attached to the cord with a jump ring cord twist concoction i created to be a bit different..
I also made a matching pair of earings.
Maybe in future i'll use more colour challenges to make my jewels.. Sometimes i need all the help i can get lol
Thanks for stopping by and looking.. come back again soon x
.....
{goodness me...well i never... there is always some dummie in the photo trying to grab the limelight! lol}

The Road to Fame!

This has absolutely no purpose and no reason other than the fact i received my yummy new Tim stash from Jennie @ The Artistic Stamper and wanted to play with it straight away.. I've been after the 'Rockstar' plate for some time.. it's awesome..
And like alot of Tim's stamps it also works with my cutie stamps.. this time namely 'Jolly Day Out' one of the Mabel range also available from Jennie
I stamped the skyline with versamark and brushed over some black mica powder paint
I stamped the stars and heat embossed in faded jean distress and white ultrafine embossing
powders, but it went on some of the skyline by accident...and it was still slightly wet!!! hence the quirky colouring.
I coloured the background with distress inks in mustard seed, fire brick and spiced marmalade, and stamped over the bottom section with the flame/swirly stamp again in the spiced marmalade {which you cant see very well i admit!}
I added some of the new TH film strip {this is super lush} as the road... writing the message 'the road to' in red spica pen in 3 of the film windows..
the lettering FAME was cut from some of my TH stock retired distressable papers..
and i finished with the cute Mabel stamp as i mentioned above.. which i coloured with copics in a gray scale to make it look like he was traveling into the future.. from black and white to colour..
It did start out with the intention of becoming a BIA book.. but i think now i may just add a mini calender in the top left corner!! What do you think?
Thanks for looking

Birthday Cube!

My friends son had a birthday recently. He is on the autistic scale and doesn't have parties like other kids.. So mum does a shout out to get all her crafting buddies to send him cards..
I decided to make him a little something for his shelf as he goes to a special boarding school...
He received it today and loved it which I'm so chuffed about.
It was created from an old kiddies wooden letter cube, i colored it with green self made glimmer mists {made with distress ink, water and perfect pearls}, once that was dry i added some swishes of white paint dabber to give it an aged feel. I coated the whole piece with a glossy sealer.
I had a stock of old scrabble tiles so used these to make up the name,
I twisted several pieces of garden wire, Made small holes in the bottom of each tile to thread the wire through and then glued in place using E6000, and backing with a small circle of green card.
I used pliers to push each wire into the wood. {it was quite soft wood}
Then all i needed were a couple of boy themed embellishments to finish.. i found some buttons and a word brad in my stash which were perfect.
And there you have it.
