WOYWW The 4th Anniversary Edition

So... It's finally here..
HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY Julia and all the WOYWW crew.
Who knew when it all started it would still be going strong all these years later.
A big hip hip hurray to Julia for starting and maintaining this whole shebang!
So to business: Todays desk looks like this:

 It's a bit empty coz I moved almost everything off to get my ATC made {yesterday..can you believe I had all that time and I made it yesterday!!!!} But it's made and that's all that matters..

I used a 4 of hearts playing card, stuck on the WOYWW die-cut letters and some words, then smooched over some distress paint and finished with some treasure gold.
I hope whoever get's it is happy with it!

Wonderland

Is the very last formally scheduled challenge over on the Altered Alice blog
And I just so happened to make a piece that fits the bill perfectly without even realising.
As you may have seen around blogland there is a bit of spool mania going on..
These little carved circle chunks of wood are just such fun to work with..
So yes.. i've done another!

I guess I was in a wonderland kinda mood as this thing practically made itself.

I had it in my head I was going to make another shabby chic one but after painting the spool with distress paint & ink and picking a Tim Holtz stamped ticket as my wrap around the idea of an alice/wonderland theme popped in my head. 

I stamped mini checkers on top and bottom of the spool, 

I then stamped and cut out the mad hatter & the word wonderland from white card, smooched over a bit of distress ink and bobs your uncle.. Job done.

I found some funky fibres {I believe these were some of the many freebie strands obtained with each 'craft obsessions' purchase} 

No i've not shopped recently before you ask!

I tied them to the jump ring at the bottom along with a few choice charms to set the wonderland theme.

I'm quite chuffed at how it all came together.. And this won't be the last one you see on the blog either.. Thats for sure lol

WOYWW #207

I can hardly believe we are now only 1 week away from the WOYWW 4th anniversary and i've still NOT sorted any ATC's.. it's gonna be today or bust me thinks!!
So today's desk looks like this...

RIGHT B4 I get a million questions.. NO they are not real or plastic butterflies on my desk.. but rather a clever little disguise added via my photo editing software to hide a current WIP DT project.

However to the left of the basket'o'distress paints is my current DT piece, and also a shabby chic spool I made inspired by last weeks PaperArtsy GD France.

To the right of the butterflies are a selection of mini keys and locks that I harvested from a bracelet I got in a charity shop for a measly £1.50...Bargain!

Other bits on my desk include, a selection of inkpads i've been using, a set of marianne creatables dies I won cheap on ebay, a half finished doily covered dressform, and a folder of stamps... amongst other things.

Right I can't not stop here any longer as i've ATC's to make and desks to visit.

Last Minute Entry!

Just in the nick of time I managed to have a wee play this morning with some PaperArtsy grunge paste as inspired by Frances 3rd and final offering of the week over on the PA Blog.

I translated her project into a couple of cards as I have 2 birthdays coming up next week.

I removed the gause I used for the first tag and stuck it to another tag with some more GP, giving me a positive and negetave to work with {sort of}.

I cut each down to fit the card and used the off cuts for the hearts.

I also added a little shrinkie to each as it just needed a little something extra.

I didn't do added texture through the stencil like France, but instead added some stencilling to the card with frescos.

WOYWW: The PA Edition

Hay Peeps,
Today's desk is a wash with all things PaperArtsy.

I've been making a spool keychain inspired by France's one over the PA blog for this weeks challenge.

I dug out one of my 'vintage' {as in had a very long time} stamp sets

and set to work, following along with the fab utube tutorial posted.

As you can see from the original i've also copycatted how she photographed it. lol

I added a little token to mine to represent the 'penny'.

I've no driving lesson today as my instructor is on his jollys so i'll have plenty of time to visit you all.. unlike previous weeks {sorry bout that}

And I might even get my woyww atcs made at some point today too.. I keep forgetting!

Forgotten Gift.

Before I went up to london I was lucky enough to win a little giveaway from the lovely Kazkrafts on facebook,
This very cool set of word stamps {that happen to fit perfect into one of my paperchase pockets..handy!}
I promised on my return I would make her something with the prize and send it off to her,


So to my word, when I got back I set to work making a little something to send as a thank you..

I used a mix of dylusions sprays, some of the new dies I got at AP and the stamps, the girl is a freebie from craft stamper.
OK, nothing odd so far... apart from the fact that i've just rediscovered it.. I'd only gone and moved it to one side and forgotten to post it!!!! What a muppet, I'm so sorry Kaz, i've not forgotten you.. It will be on it's way next week I promise.

Art In Bloom

YAY, I finally managed to have a little me time play.
I decided to combine a couple of challenges.
PaperArtsy's 'Inspired By' challenge
and Country View Crafts 'How does your garden grow' theme

I have been totally inspired with Sue Carrington over on the PaperArtsy blog this week, I've loved each project and couldn't decide with inspired me more so for my piece I combined elements from them all.

There's some grunge paste, stencilling, bumping, corrugated card, lace, pins.. you name it, I added it.
I used 'irish cream' & 'mocha mousse' for the canvas with a spritz of watered down 'old gold'.

I stamped everything onto black card, The small flowers are using 'mermaid, 'south pacific' & 'blood orange'. The big flower was also stamped onto black but it all looked a bit dark, so I just covered it with 'irish cream' and stamped in 'blood orange' and it made the arrangement look 10 times better.
For the edge I stamped the little sun from the 'Lynne Perrella' 005 plate.
{there is also 1 more leaf that I found after I had photographed the piece, so I stuck it in to fill the gap on the left}
Hope you like seeing it as much as I liked making it.

A Paper Artsy Mystery Challenge!

A couple of weeks ago while tweeting with some PaperArtsy Twit friends I inadvertently put myself forward for a secret challenge by using the hashtag #3up
I was contacted via PM and told I would be sent 3 items from PaperArtsy that had to be made into an art piece and I was to tell NO-ONE.
Very mission impossable styleeee lol
So like a good little girl I did what I was told.
The items arrived and I started creating.

I had no idea at this time how many others had been choosen, if we had been sent the same items or anything!

At the beginning of this week the first of the #3Up posts appeared on the PA Blog
and every day this week there have been 3 projects from 3 different PA Twitter followers who also used the #3up hashtag.

It was heaps of fun and awesome to see what everyone created with their 3 items.
