My Drawers are Rusty!

Over @ the Simon Says Stamp'n'Show challenge their theme is
'Rustification'
And it just so happens I have learnt a very cool rusting effect in the Andy Skinner workshop i'm doing.
This piece almost didn't get made as my beloved Vagabond Mk#3 died yesterday.
Another one bites the dust, To say I was gutted would be an understatement as when their working there such a great machine.
Luckily I still had me old trusty cuttlebug and managed to finish the draws with a bit of faffing.
I rusted the outside of the unit, I then coloured the drawers with 'antiqued bronze' and 'tarnished brass' distress stains. I stamped the drawers with one of Tim's mini stamps,  I stamped and cut out mini circles to re-enforce where I attached the buttons.
Then it was just as case of filling with goodies, In this instance some washi tapes.
I hope you like my project, Thanks for taking the time to come look.
Do leave a comment so I know you've dropped by x

So sad to hear about your Vagabond, the same thing happened to my daughter. I have fallen in love with your little drawers, how exquisite they look and I bet a lot of work went into them too. TFS. Hugs Rita xx

Don't like the sound of number 3 dying on you!!! When are they going to sort out that machine? It's not good enough really is it? I'd be lost 'cos I don't have a back up die cutter!!! Love those drawers :)

Nicky...I LOVE your altered chest. It's awesome! Love your drawer fronts with the washi tape. They look fantastic with the button pulls. I also love the chest itself, with it's rusty exterior! Love the little bird cage and metal typewriter on the top, too! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

Sorry to hear about your VB again Nicky, I know how upset you was about it last time, so this must be a big kick in the teeth for you.

Nevertheless your drawer set is fabulous. Did you make the chest from scratch or is it an altered chest you've picked up?

Absolutely fabulous! Brilliant use of the rust effect - and it looks great... and most of all I love your drawer fronts - gorgeous lettering and glimmering distress stains - this is a big WOW!

Oh, I feel your pain - I've gone through 3 Vagabonds (paid for 1 as they dropped dead within the guarantee period) so I make sure I keep the receipts and the box. I keep replacing mine because it is a brilliant machine when it works, if they could only fix the reliability problems it would be unbeatable!
Like you, I've been enjoying Andy's course...love your little chest of drawers, they look so neat!

I can't believe I didn't comment on this fab project the other day! I must have got interrupted so I'm glad I checked. It really is a beautiful set of drawers and so realistic with your little trinkets on top and the 'handles'.

I really want to do Andy's classes but I know I wouldn't be able to keep up at the moment so they'll have to wait for now :0(
