New Year's Eve 2010

Hay lovely people of blogland..
So here we are, The final day of 2010
I managed to blog every single day this month woo hoo, an achievement for me i can tell ya, and a nice way to end the year i think.
So for my last share of 2010 i thought i'd end with a little bit of jewelry.
A week or so ago both myself and my skype buddy Alison decided to have a play with shrink plastic and Tims bird cage die.. And these little beauties are the result of that days play...

We both made a pair of earrings... I inked mine with alcohol inks b4 shrinking, and added some 4mm swarovski crystals to bling them up a bit.
Tho i must report that shortly after finishing them i noticed they weren't where i had left them!!
Strange i thought....
..So i started looking around my desk and just look were i found them..
Cheeky monkey had pinched them!

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has shown an interest in my blog, from guests passing through to my much loved followers.

Tick Tock...

Goes the vinyl !!!
What on earth are you on about i hear you say..
Well what do you do when your old records are all scratched up and no good to play any more..
Turn their scratching and popping into ticking and tocking by transforming them into clocks of course.
I actually started this project  many months ago, for fathers day in fact, but mid way through playing my mojo disappeared, so there it was left to sit on a shelf waiting for some inspiration.
I finally got said mojo back and managed to finish it just in time for my Dad's birthday this month.
I covered the record with a smidge of mica powder paint here and there to add a bit of interest.
I used metal numbers, some metal sheet embossed with a TSS kabuka mould, and some paperartsy images stamped on basic grey paper and cut out to fill in the spaces and jazz it up a bit.
And i can officially report that my Dad loved it..
I'll be back again tomorrow with my final pieces of 2010 x

WOYWW 82

Well what do you know, it's wednesday already,  I'm a tad late this morning as i only realized it was wednesday when i took my daily dose of pills!
So as you can see there is actually very little to see on my desk, apart from mess... But don't worry there are plenty more desks to see via Julia's blog
The old mojo has gone into hiding for the past couple of days..
I do however have these decorations to show you.
I made them for a swap i hosted on the UK Stampers forum.
I'll be back tomorrow with an altered vinyl record.

And the Blues Continue...

Well whacha expect, it's officially another bank holiday today lol
I was actually wide awake at 3.30 this morning for no apparent reason, ended up watchin a film and munchin on some cereal,  must of nodded back off as was woken again when my OH got home from work at 7am.
Got up and been watchin QVC's craft sale. {or should that be old tat sale}
Nothing has even remotely tempted me, in fact the drone of the presenters voices actually sent me off to sleep a couple of times. So i thought i'd hop online and share a couple more of my cards with you.
This was my Daddy card
And this was for the {unofficial} In-Laws
Right think i might take a little hop around blogland, see what you've all been up to.
Back tomorrow with more crafty makes.. and it wont be cards!

Boxing Day Hay...

Well hay there friends... The big day is over and here we are on what can only be described as national PJ day lol
I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday, filled with love and laughter.
I would just like to say a big thank you to all who sent cards, gifts or wishes my way.
My Christmas was very quiet but very nice.
So usually i would be fast asleep now in prep for a nights work tonight but i'm still signed off with my knee troubles,
So i thought i'd use this time to share some of the cards i have made in the run up to christmas.

With having so many to make in a short space of time, i kept them all pretty simple.
I used a mixture of Tim Holtz, Penny Black, Artistic Stamper and PaperArtsy stamps.
I'll be back tomorrow to share some more, so until then...
Stay safe and warm x

Christmas Eve Tag #24

So is everyone ready for tomorrow!
I'm lucky that i don't really have any prep  to do as were off to my OH's parents for dinner.
Just hope the weather stays clear.
So this is my last but 1 tag, {I'll be sharing the final one tomorrow along with several cards no doubt}
I thought this was very apt for today.
I kept it simple with a distress inked background, I stamped the houses in black paint using my home made foam stamp {made using the on the edge die} Then it was just a simple inked circle for the moon, some white dabber for the snow, Santa also stamped in black paint and then i glitter embossed the Merry Christmas.
I have really enjoyed making these tags for the whole run up to christmas, I hope you have enjoyed viewing them.
I am sure lots of you will not have time for your computers tomorrow so for all of you let me take this chance to wish you A Very Merry Christmas xx
And a big thank you for supporting me and my blog x Your views and comments help me to learn and grow each and every day x

LTD Challenge & Day 23 of my Tag-a-thon!

I can hardly believe i've managed to post a tag every day this month..
What on earth am i gonna do after christmas! lol
Here are todays offerings
The tree's were created using the bit i had left over from cutting trees from Tim's day 6 tag, worked like a stencil. With a smidge of tumbled glass for the sky, a bit of colouring with my copics on some of the trees and some snow white dabber to create the snow i found it made the perfect winter scene, finished off with some tattered leaves just to give the tag some texture/dimension.
Again with this tag I used up the scrap templates i had made {not having the dies yet}, also from the day 6's tag, I stamped one deer with music and distress embossed the other. To cover that fact i cut one of the deers in half i stamped a load of holly on another tag and cut them out, and placed them down one side over the deer to create the illusion of him sitting behind it. I finished it with a distress embossed greeting and a ton of peeled paint distress stickles.

And finally i thought i'd join in with this weeks Lots To Do 'Share your favorite card' challenge
My favorite card of 2010 has to be...
This was the card i made my OH for his birthday back in June, I know it may not look like anything special, but it was the first time i had tried friendly plastic in a mold, and i just love how it turned out.
***
So it's Christmas Eve tomorrow, Just where did the year go!
I'll be back tomorrow for another tag share but if this is your last visit to my blog b4 christmas i would just like to wish you a very Happy Christmas, and thank you for supporting me and my blog by visiting xx
It means the world to me.

WOYWW, Simon Says and my Day 22 Tag!

Good morning fellow WOYWW crew..
So I'm not quite sure what happened since last week but my desk is in a state of disarray!
Truth be told i've not had alot of christmas prep to do as we're off to Tonys parents, and then tony will be working boxing day, plus all the snow has limited movement, so i figured i'd maximize my time but trying to get a head start on next years cards lol
I've also been trying to play along with a challenge or 2..
This is my entry for this weeks Simon Says Stamp'n'Show 'From Yesteryear' challenge
I did start out with the intention to make a tree decoration but once the rosette was made i thought it would look fab as a gift box lid, Trouble was i didn't have any blank round boxes, so what i decorated is actually a small tin food can and the plastic lid from an empty glass jar of barleycup!
I lined the tin with some tissue paper then filled it with more strips to keep whatever gift i put in it safe.
***
And finally here is my #day 22 Tag...
In contrast to Tim's day 10 tag, I've used an old sizzix snowman die i've had forever cut out of cardboard and placed him on top of the acetate packaging. And i added some little snowflake eyelets using my big bite.
He turned out kinda cute..
So can you believe there are only 3 more sleeps till christmas.. It will soon all be over and the new year plans will take over lol.. See ya again tomorrow for more tag fun x
I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas xxx

A Trio of Tags for Day 21!

Ok so i got a little bit carried away with todays tags, I started off wanting to join in with the new Compendium of Curiosities challenge 25 which is 'Scribble Stain Distress'
My first attempt wasn't quite how i'd hoped it may look but I plodded along and ended up with this...
I highlighted my stamping with some glossy accents
And then ran a gold marker round the tag to finish it off.
***
I though i'd give the scribble background another go minus the brown.. this too wasn't the best of results, so after a bit of stamping, some die-cutting, the decision to join in with this weeks Sunday Stamper 'Music' challenge i ended up with this tag..
I made my own tissue tape by stamping on some masking tape, this works a treat let me tell you, but i've found it best to use stazon to get a better image, i forgot this time and used memento and it kinda smudged off a bit where it didn't dry.. hence the very faint music print on it in the pic! lesson learned!
I finished the rosette with some gold flecked lace and the lettering was given a brush over with a gold marker but still leaving some of the brown colour showing to give it the distressed look.
***
So they say the 3rd times a charm, and as i had pretty much covered over the scribble effect in the first two tags i figured 1 last attempt wouldn't hurt..
And what do ya know It came out the best!!!
As you can see i kept it nice and simple,
And join in with The Stamp Mans 'Anything goes tag' challenge i opted for non christmasy images

So there you have it... A tag-tastic day of scribbly fun,
Oh and if you too are still making tags be sure to join in with Jennie's Tag withdrawal, you could win a prize!
Hope to see you again tomorrow for more tag fun!

Day 20 and the Tags keep coming!

Well the days are disappearing thick and fast now.. and under lots of snow for most of us!!!
We had a few more inches this morning... Oh joy!!!
Perfect weather for me to stay snugly in my craft room and make more tags.
And here's todays...
A nice easy one, with a sepia coloured background, some simple stamping and a bit of heat embossing, oh and a smidge of stickles to bring the holly berries to life.
I hope everyone is now set for christmas, I managed to get all my tags/cards made, but i'm reluctant to send the last few now due to the weather.. I've not had any post come here for days now!
Not even sure the post is being collected! Still i guess i'll take a chance and hope they make it!
See you again for another tag and probably a card or 2!
Stay safe and warm x
