Challenges Galore!

Ah the 1st of september already...
Soon be C*******s!!! Arrrhhhhh
But enough of that talk, the 1st of the month is always good as with it brings new challenges.
Firstly there's is a brand new theme over at
Hop on over to see the theme.. there is a prize to be won,
and you can even get yourself a brand new blinky

***
The second is Alter It Monthly and their theme is 'Rust'
For this challenge i used an old rusty key to create {ok attempt and fail} a piece of steampunk jewelry!
I made it multi-sided so that if it flips while your wearing it it looks good both way.

Using springs for the wings. Cogs, wire and a metal button to make up the body and antenna.
And a coating of glossy accents over the key to stop the rust from ruining your clothes!
I think i'm gonna give up this steampunk lark.. its defiantly not me, but hay at least i gave it a go.
***
And as i have just realized it's Wednesday and that can only mean on thing..
Desk Noseying with Julia

I'll be back tomorrow with my Simon Says challenge, So until then, tutty bye.

You can't say the C word yet!!!!!!!!
Loved that link that you had left on Kaths blog...now if I tried to do that with my scraps it would never turn out like that! It was amazing!

The steampunk piece is fab :) I'm a bit in two minds myself as to what steampunk really is but yours seems to fit the bill. I think we have a poundstretcher in the next town might have a couple of hours spare on Sat to look for storage...thanks for the tip

Minxy, I love your steampunk key, it's quirky and has it's own interpretation/identity i.e is it a key or is it an insect, thanks as alway for sharing and submitting your artwork at Alter It Monthly x

okay who abducted Minxy and put an alien in her place?

Minxy would never swear - and this imposter used the C word

and Minxy wou;d have the eyes to see her steampunk jewelery is F for Fabulous not F for failure,

what do you not like about your altered key? _ I really really think it is well designed and executed - what is the problem - Give Me Back the real Minxy...

hey I love that necklace and double sided, check you out . . and I saw the exact same wire baskets in whitstable last week, but id already spent my pennies on a load of metal and wood hearts to hang in the craft area/room . . . which my eldest thinks i should change into a stylish dining area . . I dont think so :)

I don't really know Steampunk Minxy, but I know great jewellery when I see it! Your desk looks pretty good to me - but you need to get back to those unmounted, neglected stamps - and finish that tea!

Your key look good to me, as normal I missed the deadline this month!
