Although I still had a couple of pages left in my 2012 journal I wanted to start a fresh.
I like the idea of having a yearly journal to work in to look back and see exactly what I accomplished throughout the year.
This is my first page:
And this page was totally inspired after watching Day #2 Julie Fei-Fan Balzer play with stencils.
This is certainly not my usual style, but something I had been aspiring to, to be more daring with colour, and leave white spaces.. I'm real happy with how it came out.

I have been a busy little bee the past couple of days, results of which will appear on my blog in the not to distant future.. Till then.

Although I enjoyed the whole calender challenge last year I always felt bad for not filling in all the days so this year i've decided to just make a month page to separate my year.
I'm taking part again in this years Creative Jump Start organised by Nat Kalbach {you can still sign up}And this page was totally inspired after watching Day #2 Julie Fei-Fan Balzer play with stencils.

Brilliant, Nicky!!
Love this! I have "signed up" to Kate Crane's calendar challenge for the first time... I wonder if I'll keep writing in it each day too...?! Time will tell! Perhaps your idea of doing the month was a better one!!!
Great page Minxy, and I love your idea of a monthly page without the calendar bit! I did it two years running but dropped out last year as I found the daily thingy too much (and a bit pointless to be honest)but love your idea of just having a monthly page!! Am really enjoying Nat's CJS too! And now you have made me really curious about what your are working on.... I may have a little idea:o)
Beautiful. I must admit I too am scared of 'white space' but you totally rocked it!! Looks great :-)
IF I start a Journal it will be like this monthly,, not as much stress as daily

Your pages inspire me! Thanks!
Love what you've done with this page - fab stencilling, and I love the figure of the woman emerging from it all. Look forward to seeing what else you've been up to!

Great pages Nicky.

That's what I want to do. (Yearly journal) I haven't signed up for the calendar one but I will be doing it. I found a tiny day planner to do the writing so if I cant do the page yet I still have what I want to put when its done. Love your work as always.
Fantastic page Nicky! Gorgeous colours!

Great journal page and a really good idea for a monthly page. I too tried the daily and couldn't keep up. Can't wait to see February.
Gorgeous page Minxy - love the colours :D
Hugs Ann xx
Great pages. I know what you mean about wanting a journal to be new for the new year. I feel the same way. I've never been able to keep a daily journal or diary, but I do like to keep things from the same year together.
