WOYWW 177

Hay fellow desk hoppers, here we are once again,
Thanks to everyone who visited last week {sorry if I didn't make it to you, I do try my best}
I had quite a few comments/questions regarding my new toy from last week, so thought i'd try and clear some things up.
The Big Kick IS exactly the same as a Big Shot,{I think the name variation has to do with when sizzix and ellison merged} The version I have was made for Vintaj as a special edition in July 2011.
Brenda {butlersabroad} and a couple of others mentioned the electric big shot, but unfortunately that machine has been discontinued. But having tried out the manual one now it is very easy to use, More so than my cuttlebug, which I plan to sell to make some extra pennies.
The other thing I had alot of comments on was the shock at me going through 3 machines.
Just to clarify.. I'm not a mad crafter who has worn the machines out. They have just died.
The first after about 6 months of mild use, the 2nd after only a couple and the third almost a year. One day they work fine, and the next I go to use them to be met with a dull grown, like a battery on it's last legs. And i'm not the only one, several friends have had similar probs and several machines!
Sorry to have waffled on {I know our Julia likes us to keep it brief} but I think that covered everything,
Right to my desk this week
Sorry it's not very exciting but I had to cover up what was on show with the rag as it's top secret DT work and as such must be hidden so as not to spoil the fun, but there are a couple of little hints if you look hard enough. {As you can see it's dark out as the pic was taken in the early hours of this morning, I really must get myself to bed earlier lol}
Right i'm gonna try my best to make it to as many desks as poss.. So I can't hang around here any longer, See you in blogland x

A Challenge Duo.

Mornin Peeps
Today I wanna share with you a journal page that I created
{there should hopefully be a utube vid to match soon, if I can get my converter to work}
I had 2 theme's in mind when I started this page.
Crafty Boots has a Home theme this week.
And Art Journal Cafe would like you to use 'Anything that can be used as a stamp'.
I decided to use some empty pill packs and a die cut heart for my stamping.
I had no clue when I started how the page would develop, which is the case for many of my pages but I got there in the end. I hope you like it,
Sorry it's a short but sweet post, i'm feeling a little under the weather today.
Do leave a comment so I know you dropped by x

WOYWW 176

Hay fellow WOYWWer's
Looks like a fun time was had for all those that attended the get together, Wish I could of made it {one of the drawbacks of not driving, But I am learning}
So to my desk.. I had a little tidy up.
As you can see I have a brand new toy.. Some of you will know I had a vagabond, but alas No.3 died on me yet again, so I decided to opt for something that hopefully will be a bit more reliable and last longer than a few months at a time. I'm not keen on having to crank a machine but needs must and i've heard these are pretty easy on the hands, so guess what I shall be doing today!!
I'll be back a bit later with a journal page I did on stream.
After i've hopped round some desks of course.

Spooktacular Tag!

So for the past few days i've felt a tad uninspired, I must of sat at my desk for hours just staring into cyberspace wondering what would get my mojo going again, Then I remembered Tim's 12 tags..
So I got out my supplies and got to work.
And this is my take on October's tag
I didn't have the die Tim used so I went with the bell jar, I sprayed the base with 'crushed grape' dylusions, I cut the jar part from the dies packaging and edged with rock candy stickles, topped with a smidge of black glitter and then spritzed with a little 'fresh lime' dylusions when the glitter was dry.
I was very lucky as I had just received the new distress stickles dry glitter and a few other goodies as a prize from Crafty Boots after winning their card challenge.
I mixed up a little batch of the black glittter as directed by Tim and covered the mini skull which was placed in the bell jar. I finished with the little ticket same as Tim.
My background seems to look very flat but it does have sparkle honest.
So that's me done, Still not managed to kick start the old mojo but i'll keep trying!
Till then..

My Drawers are Rusty!

Over @ the Simon Says Stamp'n'Show challenge their theme is
'Rustification'
And it just so happens I have learnt a very cool rusting effect in the Andy Skinner workshop i'm doing.
This piece almost didn't get made as my beloved Vagabond Mk#3 died yesterday.
Another one bites the dust, To say I was gutted would be an understatement as when their working there such a great machine.
Luckily I still had me old trusty cuttlebug and managed to finish the draws with a bit of faffing.
I rusted the outside of the unit, I then coloured the drawers with 'antiqued bronze' and 'tarnished brass' distress stains. I stamped the drawers with one of Tim's mini stamps,  I stamped and cut out mini circles to re-enforce where I attached the buttons.
Then it was just as case of filling with goodies, In this instance some washi tapes.
I hope you like my project, Thanks for taking the time to come look.
Do leave a comment so I know you've dropped by x

366 Late Again!

Yep here we are a week into October
and I only just got my page for this months 366 Challenge finished.
But on the upside, It's still Oct and I got it done lol
As you can see my page isn't the traditional all spooky for halloween scene, and the reason is, I have had these awesome 'Urban Beats' Sam Poole stamps for over a month and not had chance to play with them, so hay presto an 80's retro Oct page.
I stamped the tape cassette in a light colour for my days, so I could write over them and still be able to see the writing.
***
It's so nice to be crafting again, I hope my mojo decided to stick around, crafting really helps take my mind off the pain and that's always a good thing.
So till next time.

Fabric Gelli Cards!

As you know yesterday was world card making day
Now unfortunately I didn't get a whole lot of card making done like I wanted to, but I did manage a couple.

I used my 1 and only Lynne Perrella by Paper Artsy stamp set
I stamped onto thin cotton fabric for the backdrops and coloured with diluted fresco paints
The focal images are stamped onto pieces of pre patterned paper that I created using my Gelli Art plate
And I embellished with thin metal accents that I coloured with Gleam wax.
I'm entering these in the Crafty Boots make a card challenge
***
I'm really pleased with myself, not only did I get to actually make something, but I did it almost pain free. WoooHooo lol
Thanks for visiting x
Till next time.

A day to make cards!

Hi and Welcome
Today is
So I figured I would do just that and make some cards.
I also wanted to join in with the Crafty Boots mini challenge as they're also celebrating the day
and all they want you to do is 'make a card'.
So hay presto.. a couple of cards made from my scraps box.
I hope to get many more made throughout the day providing the pain doesn't bug me to much.
So will you be making today a card making day?

WOYWW 174

Hay Desk Surfers,
Sorry i've been absent for a month, the joys of ill health {said extremely sarcastically} have kept me from my crafty endeavors.
My desk has looked like this for the past couple of weeks, the last thing I managed was to have a little play with my new Gelli Arts plate,
I have to say it wasn't as easy as I thought it might be, picking the right colours and patterns to get a great look was a tad tricky, but that is in no way a reflection on the product, it's awesome, I just need a lot more practice. lol.
***
The other thing I hope you don't mind me sharing is my excitement
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEL
My readers submission made the front cover of Nov's Craft Stamper
out in shops Friday, and already available online in several places.
This is the first time I have sent anything to CS Mag, so to receive my sub copy and find my work on the front after all the rubbish health stuff i've been going through lately was a total thrill.
Ok i'll shut up now
Thanks for stopping by, and happy desk hopping, I hope to visit you soon x

Lung Time No See

Excuse the title pun but as some of you may already know the reason i've been awol for a couple of weeks is coz my lovely body decided it would play a joke on me.
I ended up in A&E for the 3rd year running in September with my lung.
Luckly this time the op I had seems to be working and what I experienced was all the pain and suffering of a collapsed lung without it actually happening!!! WTF I hear you ask, I know I couldn't quite believe it myself, but for some reason the nerves remember the pain and let me re-live it.. OH JOY
On the plus side it was just pain and with the help of meds i'm now feeling alot better {well apart from the killer cold that also decided to drop by and visit me to cheer me up, lol}
So anyway.. I'm slowly shaking myself down, dusting myself off and getting back into the crafty swing of things.
And that starts with this sneeky peek of my latest Snazzy DT piece
which you can see in all it's splender HERE
Hopefully there will be a bit more arty goodness for you to see if my mojo behaves, sooner rather than later.
