WOYWW The Anniversary Edition!

I can hardly believe that WOYWW has been going for a whole 3 years now.
It only seems like yesterday I stumbled upon Julia's desk and wondered what the heck, then got sucked in and the list of peeps grew and grew and the rest as they say is history.
So I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Julia for bringing all us nosey desk hoppers together, I've made a fair few friends because of you xxx
So to my desk..

Regular visitors to my blog will know my poor desk hasn't seen much action lately hence why it looks a bit bare, The white thing is a Prima Mixed Media album gifted to me by The Headmaster {aka snazzy boss Don} I thank him ever so much & can't wait to play in it.
The other new thing you may spy is a pasta maker, My darling OH got it for me for my clay play so I hope to be putting that to good use too once i'm back into the swing of things.
Now to the ATC's

I made these a few weeks ago in readiness for today knowing that i'd probably forget till it was too late.
In addition to the "official" atc giveaway, I have a few others to give to a couple of selected random peeps who leave a comment on today's WOYWW post.

Not sure if i'm gonna do 2 sets of 3 or singles or what to be honest, you'll just have to wait and see!!
Well it's all part of the fun isn't it. I'll post the winners for the "extra's" in next weeks woyww

Fit for a Queen.

Over at The Stamp Man their challenge is
'Card for a Queen'
Well what started off as a card sort of got bigger and bigger and ended up as a scrapbook layout

I used papers and elements from the Prima Almanac collection {available @ Snazzys}

 the bunting was made using Tim's pennants die, 

and you can just see the shimmer from a few sprays of biscotti perfect pearl mist

I'd say this was worthy of a royal pardon for not being a card lol

Mousing Around!

Hay peeps, Sorry for the lack of blogging,
I was frantically trying to get my mum's present finished and posted and then the past few days I needed a little break, I crafted myself out I think lol
But i'm back now and wanting to show you my creation for the
Compendium II Challenge
This week it's Technique 5: Shattered Stains Tim Holtz A Compendium of Curiosities, Volume 2, page 48 Sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

 My inspiration for the project came from the very talented Shelly Hickox who altered some mouse traps back in April after being inspired herself by a pin on pin interest by Suzy.
As soon as I saw both creations I just knew I wanted to play too.

But when they came my mind went a blank till now when I decided to try the shattered stains on it.
I used a grunge heart, and some alpha parts, as well as die-cutting letters with the wordplate die.
I also coloured the metal with alcohol ink. I applied a small strong magnet to the back so it can sit on my fridge or metal noticeboard.
I'm quite pleased how it turned out, be prepared to see more over the upcoming weeks lol
Right I best be off, the sofa is calling me.

Hay Desk Hoppers
Just a quickie from me today, I'm in the middle of making a gift for an upcoming birthday so have had to remove said item from the pic, but there are some clues of what i've been using still on show.

You may also notice a new tag box that I made from mountboard, It's still in the process of being finished, but it does a fab job of keeping all my tags finished and blank together.
When I do finish it, I will take proper pics and blog.
Right I best crack on, times ticking away.

Technique 4: Faded Layers

I don't think I had actually tried this technique before but I really like the results, My card took on a bit of a spiritual theme which was unintentional but I ran with it and I finished it with a metal piece I upcycled from an old belt.
So what do ya think?

Ruby Ruby

Today my outlaws celebrate there 40th wedding anniversary
so I decided to make them an extra special card

It took quite a while to do all the roses but was worth the effort.
I mounted them onto a mountboard base, and attached the whole thing to a mini easel.

Each rose is inlaid with a ruby gem. and some rock candy stickles has been smooched about here and there too.
I just hope they like it.
I'm entering this in the May Monthly Challenge over @ Inspiration Journal, as there theme is 'Flowers'

ATC Play

I sat happily playing with some ATC's the other day, I managed 3 sets of 3 in a set of 12 I was doing, but was stumped with my last 3, That was until I saw the theme over on the Stampotique Designer Challenge
'Artist Trading Cards'
It was just the push I needed to finish the collection, and here they are

 All the bases are playing cards

Covered with a mix of gesso, paint, pan pastels and stencils

And topped with stampotique images in black embossing powder and highlighted with a white posca pen.
I'll be sharing the other ATC's another time for sure, just not photographed them yet.

A bit of Vagabond Fun

I had completely forgotten about the 'where in the world is your vagabond' thing over on the sizzix blog, I know it's well past the time to do it but I was bored and I was sat doing nothing so instead of sending a pic of my vagabond sat on my desk like this:

I decided to have a little play and be creative on the computer, Well they did say to be creative...

And now my vagabond is outta this world hehehehe

See it even has all it's flight stickers now lol

No art today, just me being silly, back tomorrow with some proper inky stuff.

All the details for the technique are in the book,  I used the TH dress form stamp and some lace to create the mannequin,

 And stamped the tag with various other TH stamps and finished with a little die-cut bag I had embellished.
