A journal page and desk of loveliness!

Seems like forever since I played along with the WOYWW crew, I keep forgetting to post on a wednesday, but I remembered today for some reason!! and as luck would have it I have a mass of yummyness on show.
Firstly I want to share my second proper attempt at a journal page..
I was totally inspired and helped along with the process by the lovely Rach who has provided me with endless help and knowledge on journalling over the past few weeks. Rach you are a total star x
Now to what's on my desk....
I got a little bit carried away while watching the recent QVC craft day.
I only ordered the Martha Stewart paints as it's something I don't have a lot of and they looked kinda yummy.
I'm just getting into the whole art journalling thing so they will come in very handy..
I've yet to try them out so am looking forward to tomorrow when i'm not working and I can play..
But right now i'm off to bed!
I have just got in from a 12 hr night shift and i'm cream crackered so i'm gonna take my leave, and hopefully hop round some desk in the next couple of days.

I 'sew' love to craft!

It's been another of those weeks where I have really wanted to craft but the mojo just hasn't been cooperating!
I wasted all of Wednesday, and then Thursday was spent getting more and more frustrated with myself for not getting anything made!
Then right when I was about to give up for the night, yep you guessed it, my mojo kicked back in at full steam ahead and I managed to complete what I think is a pretty cool bit of art
{well it is too me, i'm well chuffed with it}.
And now I can finally share that project with you today over on
the Artistic Stamper team blog
but here is a little peeky to wet your whistle
Please hop over and let me know what you think of it!
***
This project must of kick started the old mojo a little as I also managed 8 crimbo cards on Friday, all be it not very technical ones, but cards non the less which I will also share at some point in the near future.
So until then..

Shabby Shack!

This going back to work lark has really messed up my crafting schedule lol
There just aren't enough hours in the day, and that is obviously showing with my lack of blogging!
Sorrweeee folks.
But today I am managing to share the piece I made for Hels Sunday Stamper challenge which has a Houses/Home theme
I made this piece by putting a mini embellishment tray into a frame, then I cut some mount board with the 'on the edge' scalloped die and arranged like a roof.
I painted the whole thing with fresco paints and crackled with the fresco crackle.
I lined the sections with a pretty paper. Then it was just a case of embellishing which I did with mini bottles, charms, and bottle top and a hand made mini book.
And there it is, 1 shabby little shack/ house!

After I finished the piece I realized I had not put one bit of stamping on it!!! durr what a muppet I am,
I hope Hels can forgive me that little indiscretion!

Thanks for stopping by x

Texture Play and a Sneaky Peek!

I have been totally neglecting my blog lately.. sorry bout that, but i've had so much going on..
So today I decided to share 2 bits of art.
Firstly after being totally inspired by the fab Rach and after receiving one of her totally awesome textured ATC's
I decided to give the technique a try and have a play with texture paste..
Now mine came out no-where near as good as her's but it wasn't a bad first
attempt.
The second bit of art I wanted to share today isn't actually here but I have a sneaky peek for you

To see the whole piece you will need to hop on over to
The Artistic Stamper Team Blog
where it's my creative day
Right I must run.. things to do.. blogs to visit..art to make!

King For A Day!

Hay World
Can you believe another month has flown by and here we are now at August!!
But with a new month of course brings new challenges..
Starting with The Artistic Stamper
The theme this month is MEN
And along with that, the team has it's second product focus which is the ever so wonderful Distress and Adirondack Core'dinations pads.. I gotta tell ya I just love the stuff so it was a pleasure to work with.
Breaking News Flash... I finally got a replacement Vinny!!
For those that don't know my Vagabond Vinny died a slow death not so long ago.. I sent it back for a replacement but QVC only went and refunded me instead.. I was not amused!! So I had to wait for the funds, then I hunted around for a Vinny MkII, Well I finally found one for £25 cheaper than I had originally paid so not all bad, and Saturday it finally arrived.. Hooray!!
So as you can see from my project I was a little excited and pretty much used every die I could on it lol
Starting with the the tag with I cut outta {i think} vintage photo card
I then stamped the Regency background  in a Gold acrylic dabber and distress up the edges with a paper distresser
 Next I die-cut the flags using the Pennants die and ran them through the Notebook embossing folder and sanded, I didn't know which side looked best so I alternated them, I attached them with some 3twist cotton twine {using only a single strand}
I then die-cut all 3 pieces from the Regal Crest die using a piece of white card for the crest, forest moss {i think} for the leaf rosette and dried marigold {i think} for the banner.
I stamped the sweet looking boy from the Childhood Dreams plate onto the crest in black Archival.
And edged with a gold pen. I gave the leaves a bit more colour by lightly sanding the edges and inking with peeled paint distress ink.
To finish my little king off I stamped & gold embossed the medium crown from the crowning glory plate onto a piece of card and cut out with my timmy scissors.
The last thing I did was to lightly sand some dried marigold {i think} card, then I die cut the Typeset Alphabet and picked out the letters I needed {the rest I put into my to use later pot} and using my already cut out banner I finished the tag.
And there you have it.. I look forward to seeing all your MEN theme projects throughout the month x
