Prepare to yawn!

Why i hear you ask.. well it's wednesday, and time to share my desk with Julia and the crew but as you can see...
there is very little TO share i'm afraid...
I was in london last week and back to work this week so the old desk hasn't really seem much action..
I did manage to get my alcohol inks out and had a little play with an old mirror hangy thing, but i'm not sure i like it. Also there is a bag of old wooden cotton spools i picked up at the charity shop, was just looking {and found} the colour i needed to finish a canvas and metal cuff i started {thats hiding behind the bag.. i'll share pics of that once it's finished} but thats really all there is to see.
I promise to try harder to leave more mess so you've something exciting to see next time. And i've already had an idea for my WOYWWAC.
If you're now wondering what on earth i'm on about hop over to WOYWW and all will be revealed!

And i thought the bag had sweets in it =(

your desk needs some action - and you need to use some of that lovely stash you bought at Ally Pally - if only to justify you buying it - then you'll feel better about buying more LOL

There's a definite knack to remembering to take pictures of work in progress - it took me a while! A very interesting space and I enjoyed my visit.

OMG I have still got cotton on wooden reels in my sewing box!! They look lovely and vintagey in the paper bag though, I must say. Love the saying on the sign, one of my faves...

Your desk is very organised :-)

BTW, no need to coax your OH to Ikea (I've never been there) - you can order your expedit online ;-) Admittedly delivery isn't cheap, but I thought it easier than faffing about at the store.

Hi Minxy!
Love those wooden cotton reels - I have a few too!(found them in my moms sewing box!) I love how you colored the stickers on TH inks with the actual inks - as I just got them and need to give them "names" I will do the same! Thanks for the great idea!

Cotton reels, where did you get them, I want some?

Thanks for visiting my first desk...even one that's feeling neglected, like yours this week, has a story to tell. Chiefly that there IS a life beyond crafting, I'm told.

Must do some charity shop shopping!! Love a good rummage!! Look forward to seeing what you make with those reels! xx

Thought that was a bag of sweeties to start with. Cotton reels taste OK but I'd rather eat sweets.

Wooden cotton reels ...what a find ...I remember using the empty ones for 'French Knitting' after Mum had banged 4 tiny nails into the top. I also remember wanting to show my daughter but all I could find were plastic reels or expensive painted kits ....not the same.

spools, spools?? I need new glasses!! I really thought they were tiny chocolate eggs!! They look cute, but not as tasty!

I got excited about those wooden spools of thread. They are to die for. Love them. And I appreciate your clean craft area, too.

Sorry I'm late getting here. Hope you had a great WOYWW.

I love vintage notions. They are so hard to find in California. It seems everyone else loves them too!

Can't wait to see the cuff! & thanks for visiting my blog - sorry it is taking me so long to get to everyone on the list!

Chrissie said...

I think you're going to do that French knitting thing with your spools, where you bang in 4 nails and the tail of knitting goes down through the centre of the spool...yes? Maybe not!
Very tidy desk!
