Bracelet Memories

This piece is actually something i made a little while ago,
but more recently i added elements to it.
It started off as just a mini domino charm bracelet.
I just drilled holes in the dominoes and attached them with jump rings. I added some little dice beads i had with wire and also to bling it up a bit Incorporated some black swaski crystals and playing card charms.
The most recent add on's were the vintage bingo numbers.

This is actually quite a personal piece to me as all of the elements are games that members of my family played.
My Mum and late Nan play/ed bingo, My dad plays cards, my Gran played Yahtzee and my Grandad used to be a big domino player.

I absolutely love this piece and wear it all the time.

And this challenge is now the perfect time to show it off.
Thanks for looking

AS Challenge

Over on the Artistic Stamper blog there is a challenge to basically make anything, as long as you use either a Magnolia or Stitchels stamp on it.

Well seeing as were still in July and the other challenge was Xmas in July i decided to combine the 2 and have made a hanging decoration.

I used 3 chipboard pieces from AS (as it's the mutts nuts and a bargain price to boot)

I stamped a tree (stamp also from AS) on each piece or board using peeled paint distress ink and then UTEE'ed them to create a barrier for the next stage, and also made sure a few loose bits of the UTEE were sprinkled about and melted, to give a snow like appearance.

Next i lay all 3 pieces in my spray booth... (between me and you that translates to open large pizza box! lol) I sprayed a small amount of denim colour wash, followed by lots of tattered angels moonlight glimmer mist (TOP TIP..rather than paying out for big bottles, make your own mists using distress re-inkers, perfect pearls and a little water in a mini spray bottle, works just as well and you can custom any colour you need) I then blotted off the access paint/mist with a bit of kitchen towel and left to dry.
While that was happening i then stamped the only 3 Xmas Tilda's i have onto white shrink plastic and coloured in, cut out each one and heated. Then i just popped them onto the now dried mountboard pieces, 1 for each piece using a sticky dot or 2. I threaded ribbon through holes i made using my crop-a-dile to hold each panel together and stuck another bit of ribbon to the top so the whole thing could be hung.

I know it's not much but as my MOJO is on it's hols with several of my friends MOJO's i didn't think it too bad lol
Thanks for stopping by

Neglected

Hiya All
Just wanted to say sorry i haven't managed to post anything of late.
I have had a heck of a few weeks, what with returning back to work after 6 weeks off due to my Operation and then having news that there are going to be 250 redundancies made, the future has me a tad worried.
Then there's been the double glazing that's just been fitted, so major clean up after they left, worth it mind, as it looks proper pukka now.
I have just had no time for me really. And alas my MOJO has done a runner... nowhere to be found lately..... I did make a pocket for Hel's In My Pocket challenge...little birds... but forgot to take pics and now another week has passed and it's a new prompt.
well here it is anyway, better late than never lol

Oh and speaking of Hel's if you don't already know she has her very own stamps called STITCHELS, and they're available to buy now from The Artistic Stamper. Go on take a peek, you know you want to!! lol
Anyway, i just wanted you all to know I'm still about, just nowhere near as much as i would like!

Hugz
Nicky

P.S. Should any of you happen to spot my MOJO i would be greatful if you could send it home, thanks xx lol

Coining It In

Here is my effort for this weeks "In My Pocket" Challenge over on Hels blog
The theme is Coins
Just for a change (ha ha... get it... change...coins... sorry) there isn't one bit of stamping on this piece, I just covered the front with paper, typed the lettering out using my new font reel and my label maker, and then added some plastic coins.
Inside....

Because i knew that the space wouldn't of been big enough for what i wanted to do,
i made a pop out by using an extra piece of 6x6 paper, then decorated basically the same as the front.
I used some ribbon to cover the join of the 2 different papers and also to be able to close the pocket, and then just edged the whole thing using a green sharpie marker.

Christmas in July

Yep you heard me...

Sorry but i just had to join in with the latest challenge over on The Artistic Stamper blog.
You can win yourself a stunning piece of original artwork for the fabby Hels.
I decided to make a decoration for this one.
I started off by stamping
with pine needle distress ink
and clear embossing
as many stitchel hearts
as i could fit onto 1 sheet
of patterned 12"x12" paper...
i took a photo as i thought
just the paper looked
pretty cool as it was lol

Next was the task
of painstakingly cutting
each of the little
blighters out....
and as you can see
this was all i had
to show for my
hours of cutting out
82 hearts !!!

But I'm glad to say... once all pieces had been arranged and stuck to a large triangle of mountboard, the finished piece was pretty cool.

I finished by just adding another piece of mountboard for the tree base which was covered in red tissue paper and tied with a ribbon bow, i also attached a wire loop to the top so the piece could be hung.
