And the winner for...

Latest ever entry to a challenge goes to......
ME! lol
I've finally got around to photographing the mirror i did for Jennie's Object D'Art challenge way back in.. well to be honest i can't remember its been so long!
This was it before....

And this is it after i got my inky little mits on it!

In case your wondering what the glare is, its the mirror itself..
it lights up when you open it.. how cool is that!
I inked the whole thing with dark brown and black alcohol inks.
Stamped one of Jennies fab nude lady stamps on the front using black archival ink and also the wording from the same stamp plate {which you can buy here} but i used a silver ink for that.
I was going to add more but then decided i liked it quite plain, so the only other thing i did was to jazz up the inside light rim with a brown sharpie marker and some vintage photo distress stickles.
A short and sweet post for a small sweet project,
just sorry it took so long to post it up here lol
Thanks for stopping by.. more bits will be appearing soon as i've been playing with felt, lace and beads!

Paper Bead Necklace

Not so long ago i took part in a paper bead swap, i had great fun making the beads but the ones i received in return had been sat for a while wondering what they might become... well i finally had a light bulb moment and decided to create a simple necklace with some of them.

I threaded a black seed bead followed by a silver spacer, then a black round bead and then the paper bead onto a flat head pin and followed that with the same combination in reverse to keep each pin symmetrical, i then looped the end and added a small jump ring to hang.
I did this with 5 beads.
Threaded all onto a black faux swede thread of which i had added a twist clasp to close.
And Ta Da.. one simple necklace!

Stampboard Magnet Swap

Over at UK Stampers i have joined in with a magnet swap run by Louise

I used 2 bits of stampboard, a 2x2 piece and a 1x2 piece connected with a couple of mini keyring loops.
I coloured each piece using Kuratake alcohol inks, and a spritz of poppy glimmer mist.
Stamped the image and quote, left to dry and then coated the whole thing in crackle glaze, once that was dry i applied some white ink to highlight the cracks.
I finished by adding the magnet on the back
and he's the pic to prove it's now a magnet... lol

I hope whoever recieves it likes what i have created.
Thanks Louise for hosting this great swap x

Sid's Fabric brooch swap!

Over at UK Stamper i'm taking part in Sid's fabric brooch swap.
We all had to gather 6 4x4 squares to swap, and then with what we received back we had to make a brooch... now to be honest i did struggle with this and didn't think i'd end up joining in as my mind was a blank... but luck had it and only a week b4 deadline a light bulb appeared above my head.. so i got to making straight away...
and this is what i created...

All i did was to make a cardboard body, and i sewed a strip of each fabric together to make up a mini dress, i wrapped it round the body shape and glued in place, backing it with a mirrored image piece of card to hide all the lose ends and for somewhere to attach to the clip. I left the prettiest fabric as the skirt..quite simple really but i think it looks cool, although a somewhat larger brooch! {think it was about 2"x 4" when finished, and that's not including the skirt train}

***

Not sure if its something i would wear but Mannie got quite attached..

I eventually managed to prize it away and get it posted to Sid :O)
I hope whoever gets it likes what i've done xxx

Perfect Day {LTD#18}

Just a quickie post.... i feel like i'm neglecting my altered side but at the moment i'm on a cute trip and think it may last a while!!
I want to say sorry to my regular viewers if nothing new appears as often as it has been, i'll try and pop on here inbetween all the cuteness!!
In the meantime, it was my friend Ann's birthday yesterday and this is the card i made for her x

I used one of my paperbag studio stamps inked with spiced marmalade, mustard seed, fired brick and vintage photo distress inks. I framed each image with wire that had been wrap/twisted with fibres and seed beads.
The wording was just stamped and edged with seed bead coated wire.
I must be physic as the theme over at Lots To Do this week is Let's Face It !
I know i was early but it stll counts..Right ! LOL
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Birthday Ann, hope your day was wonderful x
