Tick Tick Drip Drip

OK... So i'm not entirely sure where the past 2 weeks have disappeared to.
I know I have been feeling a little anti-social but 2 weeks!!!
Probably had a little to do with being on flood watch for a week, The local river was at an all time high threatening to take over the town at any minute
as you can see even the life buoy is outta reach.
Thankfully that didn't happen, although some local businesses were affected and the surrounding area's turned into one big lake.
Lucky for me i'm on slightly higher ground, but had the worst happened our town would of been cut off from civilization!!
Ah the joys of countryside living lol
So I haven't been very crafty of late, I am working on my latest DT projects but you'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see them.
Hopefully i'll have something a bit more exciting to show you in the next day or 2.
Thanks for continuing to follow me and my blog, I'm greatful to each of you who takes the time to visit me xx

WOYWW 180: The Scrap Box Edition

Good day fellow desk hoppers, Today I have a very tidy desk
BUT.. I do have a project to share that was inspired by Julia's GIIGU post at the weekend
Something in me looked at her idea and thought I need me one of those.. So I set to making it happen.
I started by evicting a pair of boots from an old gift box I was using as a shoe box,
{rough size is 8" x 12" x 5½"}
I made all the dividers from heavy cardstock, and added the tabs {made using the 3rd largest labels 8 nesties die, folded in half, and rounded off the top corners as they were a bit pointy.
I have everything in colour segments, there are 2 tabs in each. The base colour, then the patterned colour, although my cream section has 3 tabs to accommodate book pages and song sheet paper.
I also have tabs for mixed scraps, christmas scraps and bubble wrap.. then there is a load of random bits needing a home at the back lol
The box was gold to start with but I painted it cream, and wrapped the lid with washi tape, finished with a little pull handle just to make it look pretty.
***
So thank you kindly Julia for the idea.. now I just have to wait and see if it works for me and it stays neater than yours LOL
Right off to hop some desks x

Christmas Kraft Emboss.

Ok, here they are, the last set of Kraft cards for a while.
I've already entered The Stamp Man 'Emboss It' challenge once but that was heat embossing, so decided to enter again but this time using embossing folders.
Again these are real simple to make, The top one's are me inking the embossing folder b4 running the card through the machine, The one's below are emboss first and then ink.
And then all were wrapped with some christmas divine twine, and finished with some silk poinsettias, the smaller petals were actually white but I inked them to match the large to give the flower more dimension. The leaves are also silk and were finished with some die-cut mini swirls {inspired by a card the lovely Julia of The Stamping ground made} Right that's it for the kraft... Promise.
I'll be back tomorrow for a spot of desk hopping and to share yet another thing that Julia inspired me to make/do!
Till then.. Stay Inky

Last 2..

Today see's the last of my DT projects over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
and that means me sharing my final couple of kraft cards I made
This one was stamped with cotton white stazon {available from Snazzy's} the the Christmas Cottage acrylic stamps by Teresa Collins, The wording was embossed with WOW powder
And this was a variation on the first card I shared on monday, only I staggered the tree a bit more, just because I don't like making all my cards the same.
I hope you have felt inspired to get some christmas cards made.
Think i'm all crimbo'd out, well for this week at least!
Till next time..

1 Tag.. 2 Tag.. 3 Tag..

More..
Over at Crafty Boots the Challenge is to make a 'Tag or Invite'.
As I have no party plans I went with tags, gift tags to be precise.
This is also my entry for The Stamp Man's 'Emboss It' Challenge.
I hadn't tried my movers and shapers mini poinsettia die so out it came to have a play, along with the mini deer.
I stamped and embossed the Tim Holtz mini tree's with pine needles distress embossing powder {really need to use these more as I do love the effect}
And finished the tags with a wrap of christmas bakers twine and a snowflake charm and a smidge of gathered twig distress ink.
Now all I need to do is make 5 presents LOL
Thanks for stopping by x

WOYWW 178..I mean 9

Not quite sure what happened to last week, it sort of passed in a blurr
But i'm back again this week ready to hop round some desks starting with Ms Julia's pad
This is a 'been working, mid clear up' desk shot.. You know the type, you've done your project and you just started to put stuff away but got distracted kinda desk.
To the left has been cleared so I could put my die-cutting machine there instead of having to crouch on the floor to use it. And around it are some christmas cards i've been working on.
I showed 1 on monday and here are 2 more as promised
I've been using the Christmas Cottage stamps I got as part of my DT pack
and vanilla white WOW embossing powder.
I really love the kraft/white combo...  simple but effective.

The last thing I have to share is this sneak peek of my latest DT project which you can see in full over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
Oh and for those that wanted to see what was under my inky rag on my desk last time
THIS is what I was hiding.
Right i'm off to hop some desks..

Christmas is Coming...

... No matter how much I fight it! But I have been good with the christmassy prep..
Granted, i've had a helping shuv from Snazzy's as this rotations DT pack just happened to be Christmas Cottage by Teresa Collins.
Here is a sneaky peek of my first project that you can see in full over on the Snazzy's DT Blog.
I also made this simple card after being inspired by a page from Lesley's book project
I love the kraft and white combo, so much so i've made a few others that i'll share throughout the week.
I also love comments so don't forget to say hi if you dropped by x

366 Challenge 'MO-vember'

Yep I know I'm a couple of days late, but that's better than not at all.
With it being MOvember this month I thought it fitting to make my 366 calender page reflect that.
If you don't know what MOvember is check out This Site.
Basically men around the globe grow a moustache throughout the month of november to promote awareness and support {and funds} for Men's health and Male Cancer's.

So here is my little page to help spread the word.
I hand drew 3 tashes, then stencilled 10 of each onto white paper, cut them all out and used them for my daily journal spots.
I created the background using some yummy fresco paints in 'london bus' and 'irish cream' colours, with a little stamping too.
Thanks for stopping by, Have a great 'Mo'vember x

Dry Spell

Do you ever have those days when you really wanna craft but the old mojo is having non of it.. well that's been me this past week or so..
The only arting i've managed is my DT pieces which I will be sharing next week and this journal page I finished a few days ago.
As the weather has been so miserable lately I wanted to cheer myself up with a bit of sunshine.
I used tumble dye sprays and a stencil my friend Fiona cut for me.
I also used my NeoII's and some washie tape.
Sorry it's short and sweet today, I've not been feeling great but hope you like my page.
