A Snazzy Weekend

Hiya Peeps
Sorry i've been absent for a few days,  But I have good reason.
I spent the whole weekend down at Snazzy's Stamping and Scrapbooking teaching a couple of mini classes and generally have a blast.
It was a weekend of yummy food

Lots of fun inky paper play
And a comfy place to rest my head
I have to admit I was useless when it came to taking pics, I was so caught up in the whole excitement of the weekend and it was pretty non stop, and then when I did stop I had forgotten my camera and only managed a couple of shots with my phone.
I did manage to do a quick shop walk round vid on my phone b4 I left to come home.

I would just like to say a Massive Thank you to Val and Don for there hospitality and to the lovely ladies who attended both classes x It was a real pleasure and I hope it can all be done again soon.

WOYWW 170

Hay intrepid desk hoppers, Another Wednesday is upon us!!
What I had planned on doing yesterday after my afternoon driving lesson was to get comfy in my craftroom and make a piece for the Pan Pastel challenge.. What actually happened was I cleared up my desk a bit got out some of what I wanted to work with ... then got distracted with mundane things like washing, and feeding the cats and other things that seemed to eat up my whole evening!!
So as you can see my desk is ready for action.. and not getting any.
And it's not likely to see a lot more this week as I teach my first class this weekend @ Snazzy's in Swindon.. And i'm sure I have a million and 1 things to do before friday. I think there is still a space or 2 left if anyone's interested.. dets in my sidebar.
Right I must crack on.. I've lots to do b4 the weekend x

Something Fishy About That Bird!

Hi Inky Visitors
Today I have another challenge piece for you.
This time The Stamp Man
with an 'Alter It' theme,  and seeing as it has been a while since I did any real altering I was right on the case..
In case you cant guess from the title,  I altered 2 sardine tins {washed and cleaned out first obviously} Which I coated with a rust paint effect that i've been learning from the Andy Skinners 'Timeworn Techniques' online workshop.  Your missing out if you haven't signed up, It's a great workshop.
Now my rust isn't up to par as I don't have the right sand paste stuff so it's not as textured as i'd like but overall it still gives the piece a nice grungy look. And one can only get better with practice.
I gave the bird a bit of a makeover too
The sprays and ink used didn't cover properly so I ended up with a very mottled look, but I didn't mind, it makes her kinda quirky.
To add a bit of interest in between the tins I used some vintage scrabble tiles, back and front.
Not only did it make it more visually pleasing, but was great for the stability of the piece.
I was going to add something to the back but didn't know what so I left it.
To finish I just made it nice & homely for the wee bird with lots of lichen and twigs.

I hope you have enjoyed today's challenge piece.. Who knows, you may see me again this week with yet another one!
Till then..

In Challenge Mode!

That's right peeps, yesterday I spent a day playing in the craft room and joining in with some challenges.
Today's challenge share is for Artistic Outpost
who has an 'anything goes' theme.
I decided to make a card.
It's the same pic but in 2 different lights so you can see the sparkle from the Lindy's sprayed background.
I used the artistic outpost 'HOME' plate, you can just see the wheat grass stamping at the bottom of the card topped with more barb wire stamping.
I added a seam binding ribbon bow and heart pin adorned with mini glass beads.
It's pretty simple but I like it. .  Do you?
I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with another challenge piece..Till then

366 Challenge

Well here we are in September... OMG It will soon be {that festive time we dare not name}
I was a little late with my 366 Challenge August page, but I did do it as you can see, and I managed to fill it up too.
And here is my Sept page... ON TIME!!!!
I was going to take a b4 shot but only remembered after sticking half the stars on so I managed to get a half page shoot to give you a better view of the background. I used a mix of sprays, inks, stamps, stencils, and punchinella.
All the stars were cut out using my Slice Elite machine, it doesn't get used much but boy does it come in handy when needed!
Happy Sept 1st peeps & thanks for popping by,
I'll be back later with more journal fun!
