Hay Girl! Wendy V Style!

Over at Simon Says Stamp'n'Show they have a 'girl theme' going on.
I just made a piece that fits the bill perfectly...
It started life as a circular art part that I originally though I might make into a hanging but I just happened to spy one of the round boxes I had in my cupboard and it went from there.
I painted the box in a matching red and vintage brown colour but it looked too stark so I added some lace to girly it up a bit, and added some pearly accents to tie it all together.
The stamps are all Wendy Vecchi. The phrase is actually stamped onto an acetate circle that is floating in between the dressform and stars artparts.
I hope you like it, If you wanna see more art, My 3rd and final project of the week is now live over on the Snazzy's DT Blog.

Happy Trap!

Hello Peeps
Sorry i've been absent, I've had a bit of a tummy bug and haven't been very crafty for over a week, but I wanted to share this little gift I made for an online friend as a thank you,
and seeing as Simon Says Stamp'n'Show has a "no rules" theme this week I figured it the perfect opportunity to share.
Yep i've been mouse trapping again, There just so much fun, and gave me a great excuse to use my Tim Holtz  alteration dies.
Hopefully my mojo will come back to me soon and i'll get back to blogging a bit more.
Till then thanks for bearing with me and supporting me x

TOFF Challenge

Over at The Octopode Factory their challenge is 'Tags'
Nice and simple..Inky tag, embossed and distressed, copic coloured steampunk dude.
I think it needs a quote or something but right now nothing is gelling so I left it to ponder on.
Any thought's on how to finish it?

It's CAS-ual!

This will be the very first time I am joining in with the peeps over at which is a major clue as to why i've not taking part b4, As you know my style is usually quite inky but I had to make some quick cards so thought what the hell, i'll give it a go.
The prompt this week was to use TEXT
A few strips of paper, a cut in half rosette and a text stamp and bobs ya uncle, one CAS card.
I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but for me this is huge, to resist the urge to pile more stuff on or add ink was amazing.
Who know's I may well try my hand at more of these challenges!!!

Outside The Box!

Over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge their theme this week is to 'Think Outside The Box' which is quite handy as I have been doing just that with my attempts to make things for the DT call they have at the moment.
This is one of the pieces I felt just didn't quite make the grade for submission, but for this challenge it's perfect.
It was certainly out of my comfort zone, I've never embossed onto a thick acrylic b4 and boy did I have fun with it warping and twisting, which I kinda knew would happen, just not as much as it did!
The hanger has been alcohol inked and stamped from behind with angel boy, and then the wording embossed on the front and edges, with a a paper glimmering hope stuck to the front, and for a little added something I used mini bottle top alphabet which reads 'no angel' on the handle.

Right I can't stay here all day, I've Snazzy DT pieces to make!!
Till next time

Desk Hopping Day

First off I want to say a very
Happy 4th Of July to my American Family & Friends
Hope you all have a lovely Independence Day
***
Hello fellow WOYWWers
This week my desk has seen a little more action, I've managed a few journal pages {see previous post} and some other projects, mainly stampotique based as i'm thinking of trying out for the DT but I can't share those pieces just yet.
So my desk..
I know, I know it's not messy! messy but I do tend to put stuff away as I work,
mainly coz I run out of room lol
But I am slowly getting back into the swing of things and being more productive so I promise to bring a very messy desk one day soon.
Right I must be off, I've snooping to do.

366 Challenge Catch Up

Ok so I have been a bit rubbish when it comes to this 366 Challenge, the first couple of months were fine, then the blues took over and it all goes to pot, But alas I am bouncing back.. And having quickly looked back at my blog I noticed i've not blogged the past couple of month's pages.. I made sure if I did nothing else in my journal I would at least finish a calender page..
So here is April
And here is May.. yes I know there not really filled in, but hay ho i'm just too forgetful.
Now June's page is the one that let me down, It's all a bit of a blurr to be honest so the page I made yesterday for it, reflects that, I did add dates just to make it an official page.
And that leads us to July...
I'm also entering this July page into the Artistic Stamper 'Circles' Challenge
And now i'm caught up, and hope to stay on track but I can't promise anything! We'll just have to wait and see!
Till next time

Let's Get Shabby

Although I am grungy girl at heart I do have a rather shabby side, and when I saw it was the 'Let's Get Shabby' challenge blogs 3rd Birthday I knew it was time to finish a certain project that I had started over a year ago and had sat waiting for inspiration to strike and finish it off.
The theme was to take one of the previous challenges:
I picked Sewing Box Challenge (Oct 10)
Using items from your sewing box
Must see at least 3 sewing box treasures in your creation and one of them must be pins
The piece was already painted and crackled with Fresco vintage lace paint, and I had used some of the TH sewing pattern paper to back the recesses, and a little TH diecut bunting.
I found an old dolls house singer machine at the local charity shop which started off the sewing theme. But that's where I had stopped.
So to finish it off I raided my sewing box and slowly found elements to fill up the rest of the spaces, The top spools were made from the mini TH die then inked and wrapped with cotton. I still had 3 very blank spaces at the bottom, and then I had a light bulb moment and decided to make draws, that way it could house sewing ephemera.
The draws were made with kraft card and then fronted with mountboard, I then stamped using some of the TH mini stamps, and edged with some rose trim.
The last touch was one of the WV blossom bucket embellishments and the piece was finished.

I'm really pleased to have finished this project, it sat unloved for so long, now it will be treasured for sure. Thanks LGS for the push I needed to finish it.
