WOYWW and a challenge tag..

Morning Stampers It's that time of the week that we all enjoy
, Having a snoop in other peoples spaces to see whats happening... If you've no idea what i'm on about.. firstly where the hell have you been, and secondly go check out our fearless leader Julia's blog for all the info. I missed last week as i was working but my desk did look like this...

And today.. well it looks just like this...
I tryed to label a few things just for the hell of it
And the tag on my desk..
Well that's one i made yesterday afternoon for the Lots To Do challenge which has an 'Architecture' theme..
The base colour was my new paris trunk eco-friendly ink which i may say is heavenly
I used a couple of stamps from the architecture plate 1 and the art word stamp from the artist's No.1 plate, The I S was created by using a couple of letters from a page out of timmys lost & found paper pad, and mounting then on black funky foam. I finished off by just highlighting with an inkssential white pen.
most of the stash I used came from The Artistic Stamper.. including the tags.
*****
I'm not quite sure if i'll be making an appearence next week as it will be all change here.. I'm having a room makeover..fresh lick of paint, new carpet hopefully, a total shuffle round, new expedit bookcase...
 so the next time you see my desk it wont look anything like the pics above!!
Stayed tuned!
I'm gonna try my best to make it round to everyones spaces this week.. I just haven't had time the past 2 weeks and i'm sorry for that.. With the ever growing numbers i find it hard to keep up, so please dont feel offended if i dont make it to you.. i just ran out of time is all...
Right thats plenty of waffle for one day..
Go have fun in the sun.. or if its raining.. Go make some art!

Monoprint Mess!

Hay there blogland, It's another week, which means another page from The Compendium of Curiosities.
This time its page 51 and 'Alcohol Ink Monoprint'
I say mess in the title for 2 reasons...1st i ended up in a right mess as i didn't remember to put any gloves on so had ink stained hands and the 2nd because most of my efforts with this tecnique ended up as a big mess.. as you can see from my card
It looks a bit faded in the middle for a good reason.. I stamped an image but really wasn't happy with it so i wiped it off and with that took some of the colour from the background... if you look you can still see the dots slightly.. Anyways i did try a couple more backgrounds
But i've not done anything with these yet.
Well I must get back to it.. I have a whole bunch of bunting flags that need my attention..
Oh one more thing b4 i go..I always like to big up companys that give a fab service and If you want a fab, super fast and friendly service when buying your stash then stop by The Altered Element.. not only is the online store filled with wonderious goodies but your order is here almost as soon as you've ordered it {placed mine sunday got it today, and it was all wrapped in purple tissue..like receiving presents} So big thanks to Lynne x And sorry bout the mix up ; )

Pearls Of Wisdom!

This week Hels has set here Sunday Stampers theme and it's 'Pearls'
Now tecnically my entry is only half correct as i totally forget to add some stamping.. Er i mean i stamped on the inside and forgot to take pics *cough cough splutter*
But i do think Hels would want me to share this as i did use her tuturial from the july issue of craft stamper to create the perfect rustic painted box
{i had tryed this paint/pva tecnique many times.. and many times i had failed}
Till now that is.. Look how good it looks {if i do say so myself}
So thank you madam, I am truely greatful.
Here's a view of the top...
Complete with Grungepaper Roses which i created using the largest flower from the Artistic Stamper 'flower power' stamp set as i still dont own Tim flower die.. whats wrong with me.. i feel a spend coming on!!
Anyways.....
As you can see i not only have pearl beading round the edges but also a cute little pearl heart complete with danglie bits! {no sniggering Hels}
I finished it with a couple of Tims idea-ology trinkets. {these and the alterable box are available from Jennie @ The Artistic Stamper}
I'm not a vintage kinda girl, but i do love a bit of the old shabby chic!
Tell me what you think..I always welcome your feedback x

♥ Love Nest ♥

Another quickie as the sholder is still giving me gip
I created an ickle birds nest from wire, added some fibre and beads to re-create eggs and then addorned a timmy love tag and clasp.. so the finished piece is tecnically a 'Love Nest'
This months theme over at Alter-It Monthly has been 'Birds of a feather'
Not sure if this one counts, but it is bird related so i'm gonna enter it.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge

I only just came across this new challenge the other day having missed the first.
Linda over at Studio L3 is challenging all to create art following the rules of our mighty Lord Tim and his newest book The Compendium of Curiosities
This week is 'Fragments Basics' from page 62
Here is my take on it...
I used some of the oval fragments to make a flower, and a page from my timmy lost and found pad
The background of the canvas was partly covered with a pre-stamped dry wet-wipe.
I used some texture paste to stick the wipe and also to add some texture to the canvas, I then inked over the whole thing with peeled paint, stormy sky and fire brick.
I assembled the fragments flower and stuck down.
I used some grungepaper flowers i had pre-made with charm letters to form the stem and then coloured some grungeboard letters with black soot and pewter distress stickles to finish the piece.
I very much look forward to the next challenge..
Off now to see what everyone else created.

Getting Shirty!!

The theme this time round at Mixed Media Monday is 'Something Old'
Well this project fits on 2 levels.. Not only is it some time ago since i actually made this and just forgot to share it, but i also made it using an old t'shirt.
All i did was to mix some paint with some fabric medium, and then stamp images onto the Tee using the paint mixture.. leave to dry.. and voila, one super trendy outfit from an old plain shirt!
I used a selection of Timmy stamps for mine but you can use whatever inspire's you.
Also you can used Claudine Hellmuths Studio paints as these are fab for this sort of work {i just didn't have any at the time! But i do now i may add lol}

x Happy Father's Day x

This is the card i made for my daddy to wish him a special day today
It fits in with the OneStopCraft challenge with their 'One for the Boys' theme
I inked the card with barn door, stamped 3 of timmy's lions also in barn door {as it is world cup time you know!!!} and my dad does like a bit of the old footy...
I then stamped the dad letters onto some old book page and glossy accented some fragments over each one, i then cut them out and placed a letter on each lion, gave the middle lion a gold dabber crown, added the other wording.. and then to fill the plain gap that was left at the bottom i used the timmy stars.
Simple but quite effective, just hope my daddy likes it.
Sending all my love to you Dad, today and always xx
I also did a card for my OH's Dad and you can see that one HERE

Lots To Do!!!

And i'm not just talking about The challenge .. which this week is 'Quotations'  so i've done a vintage style tag which also fits in with this weeks 'Vintage' theme over at ChallengeUpYourLife
No i'm talking lots of things i need to do.. like tags for swaps.. journal swap pages... bunting for swaps.. 3 late presents.. some possible workshop samples to name a few things... so i guess i shouldn't really be here telling you this and should getting my butt in gear and getting on with it... only one problem.. the mojo is flagging a bit and i just seem to be getting nowhere fast!!
But enough of my wafflin.. Enjoy your day, Hope it's a crafty one x

A Splash of Colour!

Is the theme this time round @ the PlayDateCafe
You have to use Black and White and a splash of 'BLUE'
I decided on a Timmy tag as i just cant get enough of how they feel and how well they work with my distress inks... i need this tag cardstock in A4 i tell ya.
I stamped a harlequin background in black soot, then misted with water, let it bleed slightly and then removed the excess water with a bit of kitchen towel.
I stamped out 2 clocks, and a butterfly onto sticky canvas, i left the clocks blank and cut them out, but coloured the butterfly with chipped saphire and tumbled glass and stuck this to some metal and then cut out.
{I did this to be able to give the butterfly dimention and shape}
I pieced it all together and finished it with a stamped quote sticking out of a punched mini envelope.
I really like how the distress inks bleeds..Off now to try it with some other colours TTFN x
All the supplies I used are available from The Artistic Stamper.
Have a great weekend x

Inspiration Strikes!

Do you ever start a project and then slowly it starts to go horribably wrong..so you leave it.. sometimes months and months and then one day you look at it agan and a wash of inspiration takes over.. Well thats just what happened with this piece.
I decided to re-visit it after months of it sitting on top of the unit beside me to create my woyww challenge piece, but it wasn't working for that either so i left it again till the other day.
I splodged some paint about, collaged some lost and found timmy papers about the place, a smidge of ink, bit more ink..a segment of car grill left over from when my OH re-meshed his bumper, a cardboard cut out of Mona from an old jigsaw box... some metal letters and a couple of screws and voila..
One rather large {14" x 10" x 1.5"} Mona Canvas.

She is now hanging proudly in my bedroom, reminding me every morning to SMILE!

WOYWW 16.6.10

Hay nosey parkers... another wednesday {all be it late in the day} and another desk shot.. looking very all over the shop this week, sort of a half tidied affair.. Been working on some samples for possible workshops i might be hosting in the near future in a local cafe but thats all just in the thinking/planning stages at the minute..
What you can see on my desk are my 2 new Stampotique lovelies i received today, just behind that is a packet of brooch backs and some pendant charms...3 of which i filled with letter stickers and covered in glossy accents {which are the 3 tiny spots you can see bottom right of the cutting mat} Oh and hiding under the stickers is my fathers day card
There is a half finished tag, a mermaid canvas {who still needs posting to her new home.. sorry Fuchsia it will be posted this week promise} and the other thing which in this pic looks like a blur of gold {by the mermaid} is this...

My bargain finds from a very small boot sale i visited last weekend.. they were all old key-rings. I thought they would make great embellishments.. just a shame i couldn't find a letter T to complete the word.
I'm sorry i didn't get chance to visit most of you last week, or the week b4 for that matter.. there just aren't enough hours in the day!! But i thank each of you for visiting me xx

Just chillin!

Another day another card...
This time my entry for The Secret Crafters saturday challenge with their theme 'Add A Quote'
You will probably need to click the pic to enlarge to see my quote but it reads
'The journey is the destination'
The stamp is one by paperbag studio, stamped with aged mahogany and then over stamped with memento black.. to give an almost 3D effect.
The distressed background stamp is by the artistic stamper, and i cut the word enjoy with my slice.
Another pretty simple but effective card.
This also fits in with this weeks Shabby Tea Rooms theme of 'Summer Fun' coz there is nothing like sitting and kicking back with your pals on a summers day.

Watch the Birdy!

Lots To Do have a Birdy/Wings theme this week
which is handy as it allows me to share this card
I used only forest moss and bundled sage distress inks along wth tuxedo black memento ink,
 the stamps are paper artsy and tim holtz..
It just shows you dont need alot of supplies to create cool looking cards.

Birthday Stud and WOYWW 9.6.10

Hay WOYWWers
Today is my better halfs birthday.. He will be the ripe old age of 35 bless him
xx Happy Birthday My Lover xx
Its his card you can see on the desk...More details on that further down the page...
So this is my new COMPACT space, Having removed the little table i had behind where i sit and replacing it with my 2 new 'alex' draws i had to have a bit of a sort out.. hence the very tidy desk!
I am still hoping to completly change the room about but that wont be till i'm on my hols at the end of the month. So onto the card....
This is the first card made from a mammoth card making session I had on saturday {nine made in total which is ALOT for me}
It's mainly just stamping with frayed burlap distress inks and memento tuxedo black,
a little glossy accents and inked grungboard letters.
I had nearly finish the card but needed embellishments and was all ready to get the melt pot out when my good friend Alison {whom i was chatting via MSN}..was kind enough to point out i could try friendly plastic..
And how on earth would i do that i said.. having not tryed FP and art molds.. Again she came up trumps by reminding me another friend Lucy had a fab tut on her blog.
So a big thanks girlies.. here is a close up of how they turned out...
Come back soon to see the rest of the cards :)
Not sure how we will be spending the rest of today.. guess thats up to the birthday boy...
Have a fab rest of week peeps.. lets hope the sun comes back soon! And if it doesn't.. well you can just stay in and craft or get your nosy on visiting the rest of the WOYWW crew

Thanks for stopping by.. I continue to appricate each and every person that takes the time to visit me..

Delayed WOYWWAC and I love Ebay

Hay there you..Hope you've been enjoying the glorious weather we've been blessed with just lately.
I finally finished my anniversary piece for the woyww challenge.. if you visit often you will know i wrote a poem for the event but ran out of time to make it into something.. well its now on canvas.. some words were changed/cut from the original to make it fit and flow better and it looks like this..
It took an absolute age to cut out all the words but i really like the finished piece which is already hanging in my craft space.
***
Talking of craft spaces mine just got that little bit smaller {but only for a short time}!!!
What i hear you ask.. well i've decided to have a bit of a move around when i'm on holiday at the end of the month..and was just looking into units and what not that i might like in my new space.. i has seen some ikea storage that was nice but kinda pricey.. so just on the off chance.. not expection much i hopped onto ebay.. and there they were not 1 but 2 at a cost of less than 1 new one...AND just down the road {they were pick up only}..I couldn't believe my luck.. It was a tense couple of days wait for the auction to end but i was the only bidder thank goodness and now there here with me.
WHOOP WHOOP i'm just sooooo happy.. Is that really sad.. that im so happy about storage.. well i dont care coz i am and i can't help it lol
Roll on holiday time so i can fit them into my new space properly {they are already in and full i might add but its made the room extra cosy shall we say PMSL}
Enjoy the sunshine, lets hope it lasts all weekend!
